Roberto AYALA is set to join the Argentina national team coaching staff.

Lionel SCALONI’s staff is about to get bigger with the inclusion of the Argentina staff. Per Hernan CLAUS, it won’t be long before the announcement is made.

AYALA was capped over 100 times for his country and also scored at the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

Walter SAMUEL will also remain on the team.

Inter are reportedly in for Rodrigo DE PAUL of Udinese.

Per a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are very interested in signing the 24 year old Argentine. Udinese apparently value him at €25-30 million and despite not wanting to sell, Inter would still be intersted in purchasing him.

Mauro ICARDI could leave Inter and join a team in Spain, if what his agent said is true.

The Inter captain has interest from clubs outside of the country, according to his wife, who happens to be his agent. Speaking with AS, his wife Wanda said the following:

“ICARDI’s renewal with Inter is a very long way off as things stand today. There are very important clubs that are interested in signing Mauro and we are very far from reaching an agreement [with Inter].

“The figures that are being talked about in Italy about his contract renewal are not accurate. So far, we have not received a satisfactory offer from Inter.

“We are not ruling out reaching an agreement at some stage, but at the moment we are a long way off from that, Nara added.It is not logical for Mauro to renew on the same salary that he receives now. We believe that Mauro is at a superior level.

“We have a very good relationship with the two biggest clubs in Spain who, are very interested in Mauro, as well as one in France and one in England.”

There are reports that ICARDI would not renew his contract with Inter which expires in 2021 but if he would leave, the club would likely sell him before to make a profit.

Gonzalo HIGUAIN is close to joining Chelsea, according to reports.

Per a report by Marca, Argentina man Gonzalo HIGUAIN is very close to joining Chelsea. HIGUAIN, currently on loan from Juventus, has been linked with a £32 million move. AC Milan sporting director Leonardo has commented on HIGUAIN. Speaking with La Gazzetta dello Sport, here’s what he had to say:

“Gonzalo has lived through this moment but now he has to leave it behind him. He must take his responsibilities and push.

“He has to stay focused, forget about what is being said in the market and, as long as he is here he has to do this.”

HIGUAIN isn’t the only Argentine being linked with Chelsea. As we reported earlier, Leandro PAREDES is very close to leaving Russia and playing in England.

HIGUAIN joined Real Madrid from River Plate for €12 million.
HIGUAIN joined Napoli from Real Madrid for €40 million.
HIGUAIN joined Juventus from Real Madrid for €90 million.

Paulo GAZZANIGA put in a solid performance for Tottenham Hotspur in their 1-0 win against Chelsea in the league cup.

The newly capped Argentina goalkeeper was given the nod to start and did not disappoint Mauricio POCHETTINO. A big save late in injury time of the first half kept the score in Tottenham’s advantage. After he match, coach POCHETTINO had this to say about GAZANIGA:

“I think he was man of the match. We are lucky to have three top keepers, plus younger that have great quality as well.”
