Ever BANEGA trained with the rest of the group on Wednesday meaning that coach Jorge SAMPAOLI has all 23 of his players available.
After training separately from the team for a few days, the Sevilla man is back in and gives the squad a boost ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup opener against Iceland. Per TyC Sports, here’s Argentina’s starting eleven against Iceland:

We are just 1 day until the start of the FIFA World Cup and in 1st place we have Argentina winning their first FIFA World Cup against the Netherlands at the 1978 FIFA World Cup.
Argentina had made it to their first final since the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930 where they lost to Uruguay. On their way to the final in 1978, Argentina defeated both Hungary and France 2-1, lost to Italy 1-0, defeated Poland 2-0, draw with Brazil 0-0 and famously picked up a 6-0 win against Peru.
They were up against the Netherlands who humiliated them four years earlier in a 4-0 loss. This time, the match was not played in neutral ground but instead in Buenos Aires.
With both teams having their fair share of chances, it was Mario KEMPES who opened the scoring, he dragged the ball into the penalty area as he held off his marker and scored to give Argentina a 1-0 lead. Cesar Luis MENOTTI’s men had the lead going into half time.
Continuing the same pattern as the first half, both teams had chances to score but it was the Netherlands who found the back of the net as Dick NANNINGA leaped and scored a header just eight minutes from full time to draw the Dutch level. Extra time was required.
Mario KEMPES was the hero as he scored once more, this time a lovely skip through the Dutch back line. His initial shot was saved but he got the rebound and Argentina had a 2-1 lead. KEMPES was the architecht of the third goal as he was involved in the play as the ball fell to Daniel BERTONI who scored Argentina’s third of the match.
The referee blew the whistle and Argentina had won their first ever FIFA World Cup.

There are several reports stating that Argentina coach Jorge SAMPAOLI has settled on a starting eleven for his team’s opening match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
There doesn’t appear to be any doubt as to Willy CABALLERO being the starting goalkeeper. The Chelsea man will reportedly be the one in between the sticks for his country. The only three question marks are at right back position, the midfield and up front. It is still undecided as to whether coach SAMPAOLI will go with Gabriel MERCADO or winger Eduardo SALVIO as the starting right back.
In midfield, we could see a possibility of Javier MASCHERANO and Lucas BIGLIA or of Javier MASCHERANO and Giovani LO CELSO.
In the attacking role, it’s between Sergio AGUERO and Gonzalo HIGUAIN although many are stating that it’ll be the Manchester City striker who will get the nod.

Ever BANEGA did not train with the rest of the Argentina team while coach Jorge SAMPAOLI put out the same eleven in training.
Muscle fatigue has kept BANEGA Out of training on Tuesday as he was the only one who didn’t train. Per a report by TyC Sports, BANEGA’s availability for Argentina’s opening match at the 2018 FIFA World Cup is unclear.
Those who did train were separated into two groups. The first group was the same eleven as the one’s from Monday while the second were the substitutes. Here were the two groups:
Gabriel MERCADO, Federico FAZIO, Cristian ANSALDI, Marcos ACUNA, Enzo PEREZ, Giovani LO CELSO, Paulo DYBALA, Gonzalo HIGUAIN and Cristian PAVON.
The second group consisted of:
Eduardo SALVIO, Nicolas OTAMENDI, Marcos ROJO, Nicolas TAGLIAFICO, Javier MASCHERANO, Lucas BIGLIA, Maxi MEZA, Lionel MESSI, Sergio AGUERO and Angel DI MARIA.

We are just 2 days until the start of the FIFA World Cup and in 2nd place we have Argentina winning their second FIFA World Cup against West Germany at the 1986 FIFA World Cup.
It was Argentina’s second final in three FIFA World Cup’s, their third overall and it was the first one outside of South America. The first was against Uruguay in 1930 in Uruguay and the second against the Netherlands in Argentina. This one was against West Germany in Mexico.
Diego MARADONA had scored twice against England in the quarter finals and two more against Belgium in the semi finals and while he didn’t score in the final, he provided the winning assist.
Jose Luis BROWN opened the scoring in the 23rd minute to give Argentina a 1-0 lead. A cross sent in to the area was met by BROWN who headed the ball into the net. Carlos BILARDO’s men were in front. Jorge VALDANO doubled the Albiceleste’s lead in the second half scoring in the 55th minute.
Argentina were comfortably in front up until the 74th minute where Karl-Heinz RUMMENIGGE scored to pull one back for the Germans and Rudi VOLLER completed the comeback just seven minutes after that.
However, Diego MARADONA wasn’t done leaving his stamp on Mexico 1986 as he provided one more skill of genius, a great ball in to Jorge BURRUCHAGA who was clear on goal and scored the third and winning goal. Argentina had won their second FIFA World Cup.
