The 28 years old striker currently on the books on Liga MX club Cruz Azul but turns out that he doesn’t have a place with the Mexican side this season. At Depor,he will join fellow Argentine Federico “Fede” CARTABIA.
Lucas BIGLIA injured and a doubt for Argentina
Lucas BIGLIA has picked up an injury and is a doubt for Argentina’s World Cup Qualifying matches.
One of AC Milan’s signing sof the summer is injured and will miss the team’s opening match of the season. BIGLIA currently has a muscle injury and will undergo tests on Thursday to determine the severity of it all. The initial report by Gazzetta dello Sport is that he is expected to miss two weeks of action. However, there are also reports which state he could be out between three to four weeks.
Argentina’s upcoming match is a World Cup Qualifier against Uruguay on August 31 in Montevideo with a second on September 5 at home against Venezuela.
Valencia’s Ezequiel GARAY to join Russian club Spartak Moscow
Valencia’s Ezequiel GARAY is all set to join the Russian club.

Valencia and former Argentina international Ezequiel GARAY is set to join Sparktak Moscow in Russia. This would be GARAY’s second stint in Russia after he had previously played for Zenit St. Petersburg from 2014-2016.
The defender, who joined Spanish club Valencia last season, was reportedly close to joining reigning Serie A champions Juventus. According to Spanish media Superdeporte, the talks between the two teams are very advanced to the point where it’s very possible that GARAY would get presented tomorrow (on Friday) as a new Spartak Moscow player.
El negro (as he’s called) was not present for Valencia’s training session on Thursday morning and did not take part in their previous four pre-season matches due to muscular discomfort.
Gabriel MILITO named coach of O’Higgins
Gabriel MILITO has been named the new coach of O’Higgins.
There’s a new Argentinian coaching in Chile. Former Argentina, Independiente, Real Zaragoza and Barcelona man Gabriel MILITO has today been named as the new head coach of Chilean club O’Higgins. This will be MILITO’s third time in charge of a top club, all three of them coming in South America and the first outside of Argentina.

The 36 year old coached Estudiantes de la Plata in 2015 before taking over his beloved Independiente for the 2016-2017 season. The O’Higgins website is reporting that his coaching staff will comprise of Leandro AVILA, David FILOMENO, Sergio DI BARTOLO and Rodrigo Romeo VILLALONGA.
He will begin work on Monday.
COPA LIBERTADORES: River Plate & Lanus advance to Quarters

It was a good night for futbol Argentino last night. Â River Plate advanced to the quarter finals despite last night’s 1-1 second-leg draw in the Monumental to Guarani. Â Lucas ALARIO scored the winner for River. Lanus claimed a 2-1 aggregate victory as well thanks to Jose SAND’S 85th minute winner against visiting The Strongest. Both teams become the first two teams to qualify for the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.
River Plate will find out who they will play in the quarter finals today in the deciding match between Brazilian club Atletico Mineiro and Bolivian club Jorge Wilstermann. Â Lanus will play the winner of Thursday’s San Lorenzo vs Emelec match.
River Plate have won the Libertadores three times: 1986, 1996, and 2015.
