Lionel Messi could break a few records when Argentina play Panama on Thursday.

Messi could add a few records to his name when the Argentina national team play Panama. The first is reaching 800 career goals.

The Argentine World Cup winner is presently on 799 career goals and one more would bring him to 800. The second record is one with the Argentina national team.

He is presently on 98 goals with Argentina and two more would get him to 100 goals with his country. A third record is that of hat tricks.

If Messi scores a hat trick, he will reach 50 hat tricks in his career. And the last record would be that of the four goals.

He has scored five goals in a match with Argentina but has never ended a match with only four goals. Should Messi score four goals and not five, he will have scored his first poker with Argentina.

Ángel Di María trained with the Argentina national team on Wednesday and spoke to the media afterwards.

Di María is the Argentina hero, the player for the big games and the finals. A goal scorer in the Copa America, Finalissima and World Cup finals, there is nothing that he hasn’t done in world football. And now the World Cup winner is in Argentina for the team’s match against Panama on Thursday. Speaking to the media after the training, here is what he had to say:

“I am very happy. The joy of being world champion is something that we enjoy every day and to see how the people are is something very special.

“It’s crazy what people are doing, what happened with Leo the other day at the restaurant… The people are very happy and we have to enjoy it. Let’s hope that tomorrow will be a beautiful day, that people come in calmly and that it’s a nice celebration, that nothing serious will happen.

“Every time I come here, it’s a great joy. Every moment fills your heart, it is the most beautiful place you can be in.

“The first thing is to win tomorrow and to continue on the same path. One stage is over and now we have the World Cup qualifiers and after that the Copa America, which is what we are aiming at.”
