Chelsea and Benfica are already negotiating a bid of €127 million for Enzo Fernández.

The Argentine player is wanted by many top teams in Europe. Since joining Benfica, Enzo has continuously been one of the club’s best players and also made the Argentina national team for the World Cup.

Enzo Fernández has been linked with a move away from Benfica for several weeks and now a move could be happening. According to César Luis Merlo, Chelsea and Benfica are negotiating forms and structures for the Premier League club’s €127 million bid for the World Cup’s Young Player of the tournament.

The transfer does not appear to be easy but Chelsea are pushing for it. Should the transfer happen, River Plate, Enzo’s former club, would receive €31,750,000 million.

Nico Paz released for Sudamericano, Alejandro Garnacho, Matías Soulé, not released

Nico Paz of Real Madrid is going to be released for the Sudamericano while Alejandro Garnacho, Matías Soulé, the Carboni brothers and Luka Romero have not been released by their clubs.

Paz will be released by Real Madrid for Javier Mascherano’s Argentina U20 team which will participate in the Sudamericano tournament at the start of next year. Javier Mascherano announced his preliminary list of players for the tournament and while Paz is not in it, according to Marcos Durán and JorgeCPicon, Nicolás Paz will be released by Madrid for the tournament.

The European clubs will not be releasing their players for the Sudamericano. FIFA does not mandate that they do get released and according to TyC Sports, Manchester United, Juventus, Cagliari, Inter and Lazio are not allowing their players to travel.

Javier Macherano is expected to announce his list on January 5 and will be without Matías Soulé, Alejandro Garnacho, the Carboni brothers and Luka Romero. The Argentina U20 team will take part in the U20 Sudamericano tournament which will take place between January 19 and February 12 in Colombia. The team has been drawn in Group A along with hosts Colombia, Brazil, Paraguay and Peru.

The top four teams in the tournament will qualify for the 2023 U20 World Cup in Indonesia while the top three will qualify for next year’s Pan American games, along with that tournament’s host Chile.

Mascherano’s team plays Paraguay on January 21 in their first match. After that they will play against Brazil on January which is followed by another match on January 25 vs. Peru. The last group match is on January 27 vs. Colombia.

Juan Foyth, Gerónimo Rulli return to Villarreal, speak of World Cup win

Juan Foyth and Gerónimo Rulli have returned to Villarreal and spoke about winning the World Cup with the Argentina national team.

Foyth and Rulli are back with their clubs, having returned on Wednesday. Speaking at a press conference on Thursday, here is what Juan Foyth had to say:

“We arrived two days ago and like all the Argentine people, we are still happy. Winning the World Cup is something that you dream about when you’re young.”

“Every moment is unforgettable. We started the tournament with a loss and it’s admirable how we overcame the moments of disappointment. I’m also keeping the moment we were welcomed by our people in Argentina. It was one of the happiest moments of my life.”

Gerónimo Rulli also spoke at the press conference:

“We are very happy for what we achieved and for bringing joy to the country. What we experienced in Qatar and seeing how our people accompanying us is a beautiful, life long memory.

“They were incredible days in which each of them, we took something nice from it. Personally, the moment in the final when the penalty kick went in and you are proclaimed champion, it’s unforgettable. Also, the reception of our people, who were there at all times.”

United States to join Argentina, South American teams in Copa America

The United States men’s national team will be joining current champions Argentina and South America in the next Copa America.

There have been rumors the past few weeks in regards to the next Copa America. Rumors have been circulating that it could be played in the United States and Canada with both teams being invited.

But one thing that has been mentioned is by United States men’s national team captain Tyler Adams. He was speaking with NBC Sports and stated that they will be playing in the Nations League but also in the Copa America. This would be one more team coming for Argentina’s Copa America crown.

Pep Guardiola continues to praise Julián Álvarez and his World Cup

Pep Guardiola continued his praise of Julián Álvarez after winning the World Cup.

The Manchester City boss had nothing but nice things to say about his striker and World Cup champion. Julián Álvarez has not yet returned training with Manchester City but that has not stopped Pep from talking about him. Speaking at a press conference, here is what Pep had to say:

“All of us are so incredibly happy for him. Argentina could lose the penalties against Holland and lose the penalties against France, they will not be champions but he will be the same outstanding player.

“Julián is completely different [to Lionel Messi], he doesn’t need to win the World Cup to know exactly how he is as a player. For him it is unbelievable that he is already a world champion. Thanks to Argentina he will come back as a better player and that is magnificent for us.

“What I can say is we are so happy for Julián, What an experience. Our player will be perfect for us.”
