Enzo Fernández, Thiago Almada included in Argentina list for September games

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has announced his list of players for the two games in September.

Enzo Fernández and Thiago Almada have both made the Argentina team for the games against Honduras and Jamaica. Four notable absences are Juan Musso, Lucas Martínez Quarta, Exequiel Palacios and Nicolás González.

Lionel Scaloni has picked Gerónimo Rulli over Juan Musso, which could be an indication over who he prefers to take for the World Cup in Qatar. Regarding Exequiel Palacios and Nicolás González, they are both injured and are not part of the team.

Scaloni has also left out defender Lucas Martínez Quarta while including Nehuén Pérez.

Exequiel Palacios to travel with Argentina for September games despite injury

Exequiel Palacios will travel with the Argentina national team for the September games in the United States despite being injury.

Palacios suffered a left thigh injury while playing with Bayer Leverkusen and was not part of the team in their Champions League game on Tuesday. The club announced that he would miss the next several games.

The 23 year old has been included in the preliminary list for the Argentina national team as they play Honduras and Jamaica in September. And according to TyC Sports, Palacios will be with the team.

Per the report, Palacios will travel with the Argentina national team despite being injured and he is not expected to play in any of the two games. Palacios is not secured of a place at the World Cup with Argentina. Here is the Argentina preliminary list:

Almada has made it two goals in his last two games for Atlanta United. After scoring in the 4-2 win against Toronto FC, Almada has once more scored and it was another memorable goal.

The Argentine would play a one-two and receive the ball back. He would dribble around a defender on the edge of the penalty area and score to give Atlanta United the 1-0 lead.

Lionel Messi scored for PSG in their 3-1 win vs. Maccabi Haifa as he broke a Champions League record.

Messi scored his first goal in the Champions League this season. The 35 year old has three goals and seven assists in Ligue 1 and now has one in the Champions League.

Kylian Mbappe would dribble inside the penalty area before passing the ball to Messi. He would control and score to draw PSG level.

With one goal to his name, Messi would also get an assist. He would play a pass into Kylian Mbappe as he would score to give PSG the 2-1 lead.

The Argentine also made Champions League history. He became the first player to ever score against 39 different teams, overtaking Cristian Ronaldo with his tally.

He has now also scored in 18 consecutive seasons in the Champions League.

Leandro Paredes assists for Juventus in 2-1 loss vs. Benfica

Leandro Paredes had an assist for Juventus in their 2-1 loss vs. Benfica.

It was a free kick for Juventus and it was the Argentine to take it early in the game. Paredes would send a cross into the penalty area which found Arkadiusz Milik who scored to give Juventus the 1-0 lead.

Paredes started the match for Juventus with both Ángel Di María and Matías Soulé on the bench. Ángel Di María would be substituted into the game in the second half.

For Benfica, both Nicolás Otamendi and Enzo Fernández started the game with Enzo being substituted out.
