Lautaro Martínez scored for Inter in their 1-0 win vs. Liverpool in the Champions League.

Martínez scored his first goal in the Champions League this season and it came at Anfield. With Liverpool having won the first match 2-0, a pass in to Lautaro from outside of the penalty area as the Argentine scored a great goal placing the ball in the top corner. That goal was Lautaro’s first in the Champions League this season.

Joaquin Correa would also be substituted in for Inter as he started the match on the bench. Inter would win 1-0 but would be eliminated from the Champions League with a 2-1 score.

Lautaro Martínez starts for Inter against Liverpool in their Champions League match.

Martínez will start the match at Anfield just as he did at the San Siro in their first match. Liverpool got two second half goals as they won the first match 2-0 against the Serie A champions.

The 24 year old has played in all seven Champions League matches for Inter this season but has yet to score. However, Lautaro did score three goals for Inter in their last league match in a 5-0 win vs. Salernitana. Joaquin Correa starts the second match on the bench for Inter. He has played four Champions League matches this season but hasn’t scored a goal.

Argentina against Venezuela to be played at La Bombonera

Argentina against Venezuela in the World Cup qualifiers will be played at La Bombonera.

The last home match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers for the Argentina national team will be played at Boca’s stadium. The match was supposed to be played at the Monumental but as we reported last week, that will no longer be the case.

It is the first of two World Cup qualifying matches for Argentina in March. The match against Venezuela will be played on 25 March with the second on 29 March against Ecuador but away from home. Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United posts about Argentina national team call up

Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United posted about being called up to the Argentina national team.

Garnacho is part of the preliminary list of players for Argentina’s March World Cup qualifiers. Born in Spain and having represented Spain at youth level, the Argentine is eligible to play for Argentina as one of his parents is born in Argentina.

The 17 year old posted on Instagram a picture of himself as a child wearing an Argentina national team shirt.

Reason behind Luka Romero, Matias Soule, Alejandro Garnacho called to Argentina team

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni called up 44 players to the preliminary team for the March World Cup qualifiers and the reason behind it has been revealed.

Of those 44 players, three of them are 18 year old players with four of them being 17 year old players. While there are some more popular players who have been linked with the national team such as Luka Romero of Lazio and MAtias Soule of Juventus, according to TyC Sports, there is a reason why Scaloni has decided to call up that many youngster.

Only Matias Soule had previously been called up to the Argentina national team. According to TyC Sports, the AFA could have a few friendly matches for the Argentina U20 team during the international fixtures. This would give coach Javier Mascherano the chance to have those players with the team.

This would also give the young players a chance to train with the senior Argentina national team. Argentina play Venezuela and Ecuador in the March World Cup qualifiers. Here is the full list of players that have been called up:
