Sergio Romero has signed with Boca Juniors as a free agent.

Romero has returned to Argentina. The 35 year old goalkeeper has signed with Boca Juniors and has returned to Argentina after 15 years in Europe.

The Argentine goalkeeper was a free agent as he spent last season with Venezia in Serie A in Italy. He is the most capped Argentina goalkeeper of all time with 96 matches.

In Europe, Romero won four trophies with his clubs. His first trophy was the Eredivisie with AZ Alkmaar as he had joined them from Racing Club.

He joined Sampdoria where he spent a season on loan at Monaco. Following a tremendous FIFA World Cup with the Argentina national team, Romero signed with Manchester United where he stayed there for 6 years.

With Manchester United, Romero won the UEFA Europa League, an FA Cup and an EFL Cup. With the Argentina national team, he won Olympic gold in 2008 and the 2007 FIFA U20 World Cup.

Marcos Senesi presented as Bournemouth player

Marcos Senesi has been presented as a Bournemouth player.

Senesi has signed with the Premier League club and will wear the number 25 shirt. Bournemouth announced through a video on their social media that the Argentine has joined them.

The 25 year old joins them from Feyenoord with the club announcing that he has joined on a four year deal. He will wear the number 25 shirt.

Valentín Barco from Argentina named MVP of COTIF Tournament

Valentín Barco from Argentina was named the best player of the COTIF tournament 2022, following the 4-0 win in the final vs. Uruguay. The 18-year-old left-back, who has already played a couple of matches for Boca Juniors’ first team, was one of the many young Argentines that stood out in L’Alcudia.

After receiving the award, “el colo” posted the following on his Instagram account:

“Proud to be champion defending the colors of my country with this group of players who left their lives in every match behind a dream. I am very happy to have been chosen as the best player of the tournament. Dreams are to be fulfilled. Thanks for the support. Let’s go national team!”

Gio Lo Celso to Villarreal from Tottenham becoming closer

Gio Lo Celso is set to join Villarreal from Tottenham Hotspur as the deal is closer to being completed.

Lo Celso will remain in Spain with Villarreal. According to Gastón Edul, he is getting closer to remaining with them as the possible move to Fiorentina will not be happening.

The Argentine spent last season on loan at Villarreal where he helped them reach the semi finals of the Champions League. He is presently in Spain, having attended the Argentina U20 COTIF final on Sunday which was won by Javier Mascherano’s team.

Marcos Senesi signs with Bournemouth from Feyenoord

Marcos Senesi has signed with Bournemouth from Feyenoord.

Senesi will be playing in the Premier League. According to César Luis Merlo, the Argentine has signed a contract with Bournemouth until June 2026 with an option for an additional year.

Feyenoord will get €15 million plus €2 million in bonuses. Senesi’s original club in Argentina, San Lorenzo, will get €1.2 million.

As we reported on Sunday, Senesi was in England and would undergo his medical and sign with the club on Monday.
