Cristian Romero was back for Tottenham Hotspur in their FA Cup match against Brighton.

Romero took part in his first match of 2022, his first match in over two months. The defender was substituted off for Argentina in their match against Brazil back in November with a hamstring injury.

The 23 year old returned for Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday where he played 77 minutes. According to Argentidata, these were his numbers:

Ángel Correa has been named as the January La Liga Player of the Month.

Correa has eight goals in the league with Atletico Madrid this season, four of which came in January. He is also Atletico’s top scorer in the league this season.

The 26 year old was called up for the Argentina national team for the wins against Chile and Colombia. He was brought on as a substitute for 5 minutes against Chile while remaining on the bench against Colombia last Tuesday.

Manchester City boss Pep GUardiola commented on the signing of Julian Alvarez.

Pep Guardiola has an Argentine back in the team. With Sergio Aguero having left the club for FC Barcelona and since retiring, there were no Argentine players at Manchester City. However, the club announced the signing of the Argentine in January.

Gio Lo Celso has been presented as a new Villarreal player while also being named in the Champions League team.

Lo Celso joined Villarreal from Tottenham Hotspur on loan until the end of the season. After taking part in Argentina’s two World Cup qualifying wins against Chile and Colombia, Lo Celso flew to Spain where he underwent his medical.

The Argentine passed his medical and was presented as a Villarreal player. Given the number 17, Lo Celso was also named in their Champions League team.
