Lionel Scaloni and Diego Simeone have both been nominated for the Best FIFA coach award.

Scaloni and Simeone both won trophies with their teams this year as they are the two Argentine coaches who have been nominated. Scaloni coached Argentina to the 2021 Copa America, the national team’s first trophy in 28 years.

Current coach of the Argentina national team, Scaloni also qualified Argentina to the 2022 World Cup with four matches remaining. The earliest ever by an Argentine coach.

Diego Simeone won La Liga with Atletico Madrid, his second time winning the league. Here are the other coaches that have been nominated:

Lionel Messi has been nominated for the Best FIFA Men’s award.

Messi is the only Argentine nominated for the award this year after winning several individual and team awards. The Argentine won the Best FIFA Men’s award back in 2019 and came in second place in 2016 and 2017 while in third last year. Here are the other players that have been nominated:

With the Argentina national team, Messi won the Copa America while also winning the best player and top scorer award. With FC Barcelona, he won the Copa del Rey and won the Pichichi award in La Liga as the top scorer.

Lautaro Martinez scored for Inter in their 3-2 win vs. Napoli.

Martinez scored the third goal off a great counter attack started by Joaquin Correa. It was Correa who ran towards the Napoli back line as he played a pass into Lautaro and his right footed effort make it 3-2 for Inter.

The Argentine now has six goals this season.

Lucas Ocampos scored for Sevilla in their 2-2 draw against Alaves.

Ocampos scored from inside the penalty area as Gonzalo Montiel sent in a cross which found Ocampos who drew Sevilla level. Both Ocampos and Montiel started the match with Marcos Acuña and Alejandro Papu Gomez being substituted on.

The Argentine has three goals and one assist in his last four matches.

Lionel Messi scored for PSG in their 3-1 win vs. FC Nantes.

Messi scored his first goal in the league for PSG from the esge of the penalty area. The Argentine received the ball and drifted towards goal, his left footed shot went into the bottom corner as he gave PSG the 3-1 lead.

He played a pass in for the second goal but his pass was deflected by an FC Nantes player and into the net which made it 2-1 for PSG. Leandro Paredes also startes the match and he bad an assist on the first goal.
