Lautaro Martinez has signed a new contract with Inter.

Martinez has renewed his contract with Inter as he will stay with the club until the end of the 2025-2026 season. According to Fabrizio Romano, Lautaro has extended until June 2026 where his salary has been improved and his release clause removed.

The Argentine joined the club in 2018 where he helped them win the league last season.

Lionel Messi has a muscle discomfort and could miss PSG’s league match against Lille.

Messi has been rumored to have been suffered from minor knocks and injuries since the start of the season. He did not take part in PSG’s training on Thursday ahead of their league match against Lille on Friday.

Mauricio Pochettino, the PSG coach, held a press conference where he was asked about Lionel Messi. With both Messi and Kylian Mbappe missing from the PSG training, Pochettino was asked if Messi would play further up the pitch and not out on the right, where he has mostly played for them. Pochettino mentioned that Messi can play up front but he also mentioned that there are other players who can play up front instead with Mbappe possibly out.

Pochettino also spoke about Messi’s absence from training. Here is what he had to say:

“In terms of Leo Messi, he has been training very well since the match against Marseille. This morning, he had a small muscle problem, as a precaution, he trained individually. We will assess him and see if he can be involved.”

Pezzella got his first goal for Real Betis since re-joining them in the last transfer window. With Betis leading 2-1, they were awarded a corner kick as the ball was aimed at Pezzella and the Argentine headed it in.

Still only 30 years old, Pezzella continues to be part of the Argentina national team. He is expected to be called-up to the Argentina squad for the World Cup qualifiers in November.

Lamela scored for th first time since the second match of the season as his goal earned Sevilla a 1-1 draw. Mallorca were leading 1-0 as Lamela received the ball from outside of the penalty area.

The Argentine would drift inside and curl a shot with his left foot into the top corner to draw Sevilla level. Lucas Ocampos would end up scoring in injury time but the goal went to VAR and was disallowed.

Marcos Acuña would start the match for Sevilla with Lamela and Ocampos being brought on as substitutes and Gonzalo Montiel on the bench.

CONMEBOL have confirmed that the South American teams will boycott the FIFA World Cup, should it take place every two years.

Rumors have emerged in recent weeks that FIFA are looking to have the World Cup take place every two years, as opposed to the current format of every four years. This has divided the opinions of many people and CONMEBOL have communicated a message regarding the possible new format.

The message mentions how there’s no real reasons, benefits or justifications for the World Cup to be held every two years. And because of that, the 10 South American national teams will not participate in the World Cup if it it’s every two years. This was released on Wednesday.
