Erik Lamela scored both goals for Sevilla in their 3-0 win vs. Rayo Vallecano.

It was a dream start for Lamela as he made his La Liga debut with Sevilla. Despite starting the match on the bench, the 29 year old was brought at half time and proved his worth.

With Sevilla leading 1-0, it took Lamela just 10 minutes to get on the scoresheet. A heavily deflected shot from inside the penalty area beat the substitute Rayo goalkeeper to double Sevilla’s lead.

At 2-0, Lamela would get on the end of a low cross with En-Nesyri playing a ball into the penalty area and a diving Lamela would extend his foot and score his second of the match.

Marcos Acuña would start and play the entire 90 minutes for Sevilla while Alejandro Papu Gomez would also be brought on as a substitute. Lucas Ocampos was not on the bench.

 

Angel Correa scores twice for Atletico Madrid in 2-1 win vs. Celta

Angel Correa kicked off the Liga season in excellent form scoring both goals for Atletico Madrid in their 2-1 win vs. Celta.

Correa scored both goals, including the first of the match. With the score at 0-0, Correa received the ball outside of the penalty area and a thunderous shot beat the goalkeeper to give Atletico the 1-0 lead.

With the score at 1-1, the Argentine Copa America winner would score a second goal. Inside the penalty area, he would roll the ball beyond the goalkeeper to give the current La Liga champions the win.

Still only 26 years old, Correa managed nine goals in the league last season.

Paulo Dybala scored for Juventus in their 3-1 win vs. Atalanta.

Dybala’s ending his pre-season in good form as Serie A kicks off next weekend. After a less than stellar season last time around, the 27 year old will look to turn things around and get back into the Argentina national team.

A counter attack by Juventus ended with Chiesa playing a low cross into the penalty area and Dybala with a finish to give Juventus the 1-0 lead.

Mauro Icardi scores second goal in two matches in PSG win vs. Strasbourg

Mauro Icardi continues his excellent start to the season as he scored his second goal in two matches.

It took only three minutes for Icardi to score the opening goal of the match. A cross into the penalty area found the number 9 as his flying header opened the scoring and gave PSG the 1-0 lead.

Lionel Messi was presented before the match as he, along with the two other Copa America winners with Argentina on the team, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes watched from the stands.

Icardi is definitely making a case for himself to be included in the Argentina squad for next month’s World Cup qualifying matches.

Alexis Mac Allister scored for Brighton in their 2-1 comeback win vs. Burnley for Premier League matchday one.

The 22-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder was substituted on in the 75th minute and scored just 3 minutes later the winning goal for his team. The former Argentinos Juniors and Boca Juniors got off to a great start in this Premier League season 2021/2022.

Mac Allister did not have the best of showings at the Olympics for Argentina but a goal to start off the season will surely do his confidence a world of good.
