Napoli reportedly interested in Argentine defender Marcos Senesi

Napoli are reportedly interested in signing Argentina defender Marcos Senesi from Feyenoord.

Feyenoord have reportedly put a price of €12 to €15 million for Marcos Senesi should a club want to sign him. According to a report by Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are looking to sign Senesi.

Per the report, Senesi would have no problems joining Napoli as they would like to get the Argentine on a loan deal but Feyenoord does not appear to be too keen on that. Already in his third season at the club, Senesi joined Feyenoord from San Lorenzo back in 2019. He has represented the club over 50 times.

Nicolas Gonzalez scored and assisted for Fiorentina in their 4-0 win vs. Cosenza in the Coppa Italia.

It was a dream debut for Gonzalez as the 23 year old was involved in two of the four goals scored. He would receive the ball inside the penalty area and pass it to Vlahovic who would score from close range.

Gonzalez would get his first goal in a Fiorentina shirt off a corner. A cross sent in found the Copa America winner who would head it in to give Fiorentina the 2-0 lead.

Gonzalo Montiel signs with Sevilla

Gonzalo Montiel has signed with Sevilla.

Montiel becomes the fifth Argentine player at the club as he put pen to paper on Friday. Sevilla announced the Argentina Copa America winner with a video through their social media channels.

The 24 year old joins right back signed a five year contract. He came up through the River Plate youth system where he made a name for himself. A Copa Libertadores winner, this is Montiel’s first European club.

He joins Lucas Ocampos, Erik Lamela, Marcos Acuña and Alejandro Papu Gomez at the club.

Mauricio Pochettino’s first comments on Lionel Messi’s arrival to PSG: “I see him happy”

Paris Saint-Germain coach Mauricio Pochettino spoke in a press conference this Friday and commented on Lionel Messi’s arrival in the club.

This is what he had to say about Messi’s arrival:

“We know what Leo represents and what he is as a football player. It is a privilege that he is here.

“I see Messi happy, content and with incredible energy. I am also Argentine, from Newell’s… one admires these players but that aside; we are going to work responsibly to hopefully achieve the goals of the club.”

Mauricio Pochettino also commented on when Messi could potentially make his PSG debut:

“It is his second training session after a month. The priority is that he is well, feels good, and when he is in the best condition, he can debut.

“I want to have the best players like any coach. Everyone knows that Messi is the best or one of the best in the world.”

Although almost the entirety of the press conference revolved around Messi, Pochettino was also asked about Mauro Icardi’s continuation at the Parisian club. Rumors are circulating about a possible departure for the Argentine striker. This was the PSG coach’s response:

“Mauro is part of the team. There is no reason to think that he will not continue here in the future.”

Paris Saint-Germain play this Saturday against RC Strasbourg at The Parc des Princes stadium, for Matchday 2 of Ligue 1. It is confirmed that Lionel Messi will not play since he just had a couple of training sessions in PSG, and his last match was the Copa America final vs. Brazil, more than a month ago.

Per reports from the French media, Mauro Icardi, who scored the winning goal in PSG’s last match vs. Troyes, would be the only Argentine in the starting eleven.

Lautaro Martinez suffers injury with Inter, to be evaluated

Lautaro Martinez has reportedly suffered an injury and could miss the first two league matches.

Serie A begins next week and Martinez is already a doubt for the second match. According to a report by Gianluca Di Marzio, Lautaro has a slight muscle strain and he will be evaluated for Inter’s second league match.

The second match day would be on August 27 when Inter play Verona.

Argentina play three World Cup qualifying matches in September, all three coming early in the month.
