Guido Rodriguez has joined Real Betis from Club America.

The Argentina midfielder has finally made the switch over to Europe. Still only 25 years old, the defensive midfielder has joined for €4 million plus variables, according to reports.

Winner of the MVP in the Mexican first division last year, here’s what Guido had to say about his transfer:

“I am happy to be able to fulfill a dream, to fulfill a goal that I had set and that every player likes, so I’m very happy. I am very happy to have done things well in a big club in the world, the biggest in Mexico, so I am very happy, and now there is another challenge ahead.”

Gio Lo Celso and Erik Lamela were both on target for Tottenham in their 2-1 FA Cup win vs. Middlesbrough.

It was a pair of Argentine goals which helped Jose Mourinho’s team get the win. Lo Celso opened the scoring, pouncing on a Middlesbrough defensive error. The former Rosario Central midfielder latched on to the ball, skipped past one and fired into the back of the net. It was 1-0 in the first two minutes.

Erik Lamela would double their lead with a beautiful solo effort. He would win the ball off a Middlesbrough player, skip past one, run past another and with a toe poke would make it 2-0 for his team.

Ignacio Pussetto joins Watford on four and a half year deal

Ignacio Pussetto has put pen to paper, joining Premier League club Watford.

Pussetto joins on a four and a half year deal and will be playing alongside fellow Argentine Roberto Pereyra. While with Udinese, Pussetto played 50 times scoring five goals. Still on 24 years old, Pussetto will be looking to break into the Argentina national team.

Speaking with the official Watford team website, here’s what he had to say:

“It is very important for me to get into the team as soon as possible and I’m very excited to start right away. If the manager thinks I am ready for Saturday I am available, but otherwise I will try my best and train hard in order to be in the squad as soon as possible

“This is a huge step for my career. I’m very happy and proud to be in the Premier League now and I have to take all the responsibilities that comes with it. It was not an easy decision to move because it’s a huge step, but when I was at Udinese I heard a lot about Watford because it was a very close club.

“I’m excited to be here and I have to put in as much effort as I can for the good of the club now.”

In regards to playing alongside Roberto Pereyra, here’s what he had to say:

“I’m very excited to get to know Pereyra because even though I don’t know him personally, many people have said very good things about him as a person, and as a player he’s very renowned. I look forward to getting to know not only him but also the whole team.”

Watford heavily linked with Argentina man Ignacio Pussetto of Udinese

Ignacio Pussetto is reportedly close to joining Watford.

The Premier League could be getting another Argentine as Ignacio Pussetto is close to joining Roberto Pereyra. Per reports in England, Pussetto is in the country undergoing a medical for a move away from Udinese.

Still on 24 years old, he would join on an €8 million deal.

Juan Brunetta replaces Fernando Valenzuela for Argentina in Olympic qualifiers

Juan Brunetta has been named as the replacement for Fernando Valenzuela in Argentina’s team for the Olympic qualifiers.

Brunetta’s club Godoy Cruz confirmed him as part of the team through their Twitter account. He will join Fernando Batista’s squad for the Olympic qualifiers which begin this week in Colombia.
