Juan FOYTH suffers serious looking injury for Tottenham Hotspur

Juan FOYTH suffered what looks to be a serious injury during Tottenham’s pre-season match against Bayern Munich.

The Argentina man had to be substituted off after going down unchallenged while holding onto his ankle. He was taken out on a stretcher. Speaking to the media, Tottenham coach Mauricio POCHETTINO had this to say about the injury:

“I need to talk with the doctor. He twisted his ankle but at the moment I can’t give an update He said his ankle was very painful.”

Some are fearing that FOYTH has severely injured his Achilles. Tests are expected to be done on FOYTH.

 

Argentina win 4-1 vs. Mauritania at COTIF L’Alcudia

Argentina defeated Mauritania 4-1 at COTIF L’Alcudia to start the tournament.

The reigning champions were off to a flying start in the tournament. Coached by Esteban SOLARI, it was Pablo SOLARI, Matko MILJEVIC, Brandon CORTES and Ezequiel NAVARRO who scored the four goals for Argentina.

They will play against Spain on Friday.

Lionel MESSI has been nominated for the FIFA Best Men’s player award.

MESSI has made the top 10 players list once more and is one of the favorites to win the award. A league winner with FC Barcelona, MESSI made the semi-finals of the Champions League and captained Argentina to a third place finish at the 2019 Copa America. Here are the nominees.

Mauricio POCHETTINO, Marelo GALLARDO and Ricardo GARECA have all been nominated for the FIFA best coach of the year.

The list of the 10 nominees has been announced and Argentina have the most representatives of any country among them. Mauricio POCHETTINO of Tottenham was a Champions League finalist while finishing fourth in the Premier League and a semi-final appearance in the Carabao Cup.

Marcelo GALLARDO won the 2018 Copa Libertadores with River Plate while also wining the Recopa and finishing third at the FIFA Club World Cup. As for Ricardo GARECA, he helped guide Peru to a 2019 Copa America final. Here’s the final list:

Lionel SCALONI announced to remain as Argentina coach for World Cup Qualifiers

Lionel SCALONI has officially been announced as Argentina coach for the World Cup Qualifiers.

SCALONI, who took charge of the team last year, has a contract until the end of this year but that has changed. Following a third place finish at the 2019 Copa America, the AFA have decided to keep SCALONI on for a little longer.
