Argentina U23 rumored eleven vs. Colombia, Olympic qualifiers

Argentina will play against hosts Colombia in their opening match of the Olympic qualifiers.

Fernando Batista’s team will look to get all three points versus the hosts as they look to be able to book a spot at the Olympics. Here is the rumored eleven:

Facundo Cambeses; Marcelo Herrera, Nehuen Perez, Facundo Medina, Claudio Bravo; Fausto Vera, Nicolas Capaldo; Julian Alvarez, Alexis Mac Allister, Agustin Urzi; Adolfo Gaich

The two time gold winners in football at the Olympics have been placed in Group A along with Colombia, Chile, Ecuador and Venezuela. Argentina will play Colombia, Chile plays Ecuador while Venezuela has off.

Sergio Agüero scored twice for Manchester City in their 2-2 draw vs. Crystal Palace.

Agüero would be the hero in the match for Pep Guardiola’s team. Despite going down 1-0, Sergio Aguero would score to draw City level. A ball inside the penalty area and it’s Agüero who would get to it and score from close range.

City’s all time leading scorer would do it again. A ball crossed in and it’s Agüero who would head it into the net. He would give City the 2-1 lead but it would be Fernandinho who would score an own goal late in the match.

Lautaro Martinez recently gave an interview where he spoke about the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero as well as missing the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

The Argentina and Inter striker is one not only for the present but for the future. He has delivered goals for both club and country and speaking with TyC Sports, he discussed all of that. Here’s what he had to say:

“What do I with Inter is what will get me into the Argentina national team. I have to test myself every day to compete, to be at the height of it all and to wear the Argentina shirt.”

When asked about current Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni:

“He has a lot of confidence in me. I’ve been in every one of his call-ups.”

Regarding both Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero:

“It’s great joy what they do because they have helped grow Argentine football. What they have shown and what they have done in their great careers is incredible. Hopefully I’ll be able to achieve something to what they have achieved.”

Martinez also spoke about missing the 2018 FIFA World Cup:

“I was doing great with Racing but the one who decided was the coach and he decided not to call me up. I always worked and tried to give my best. I had meetings with the coach but he chose not to select me in the final 23 players. I continued. Today, I work to be able to continue to achieve the objectives I have ahead.”

Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala both scored for Juventus in their 4-0 win vs. Udinese in the Coppa Italia.

Matias Kranevitter linked with move to Monterrey in Mexico

Matias Kranevitter could be on his way to Mexico to join Monterrey.

The Argentina midfielder has not been getting regular playing minutes with his current club Zenit in Russia and is likely to be on his way out. Per a report by TyC Sports, Rayados in Mexico are interested in signing the midfielder. Per the report, Zenit are willing to listen to offers for Kranevitter.

Should he join Monterrey, the former River man would join Barovero, Vangioni and Rogelio Funes Mori on the team.
