Adolfo Gaich scored the winner for San Lorenzo in their 1-0 win against River Plate.
The striker’s impressive run of form has continued until the end of the year. Gaich would receive the ball inside the penalty area and with the deftest of touches would go around the first defender and another touch around the second before firing into the back of the net.
Gaich’s striker would bring San Lorenzo to just four points off the top of the table as he has also scored four goals in his last four matches.

Federico Fernandez scores winner for Newcastle United
Federico Fernandez scored the winner for Newcastle in their 2-1 victory vs. Southampton.
The Argentina man got his first of the season which gave Newcastle all the points. With the match at 1-1, Fernandez was the first to get to a rebound as the goalkeeper spilled the shot.
Fernandez, still only 30 years old, has not been capped for Argentina since 2014, over 5 years ago.

Lucas Alario scored twice for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-1 win vs. Schalke.
Alario’s first goal came through a set piece. A corner kick sent in found Alario who headed the ball to give Leverkusen the 1-0 lead. Alario would double Leverkusen’s lead, this time scoring from close range.

Lionel Messi scored a hattrick for FC Barcelona in their 5-2 win vs. Mallorca.
It was the Lionel Messi show and Lionel Messi week. A few days after receiving a record sixth Ballon d’Or, the Argentina captain lead his team to victory scoring a new record 35th La Liga hattrick.
Messi scored his first goal in the first half. He received the ball outside of the penalty area and a well placed curled shot beat the goalkeeper. Number two would prove to be just as sweet.
He would receive the ball once more outside of the area and just like his first effort, a great shot would make it 3-1 for Barcelona. His third would be just as beautiful.
Barcelona’s captain would receive the ball inside the area and a first time shot would rocket into the net.
