Argentina national team to play Morocco in March with Lionel MESSI returning

Argentina will play Venezuela and Morocco in March with captain Lionel MESSI returning to the team.

Two friendly matches have been confirmed for Argentina in March. With news coming out that the team would play Venezuela and the Czech Republic, the Czech’s would later opt out of the match and the team have a new opponent.

The first match would be on March 22 against Venezuela with the second on March 26 against Morocco.

Lionel SCALONI’s team would receive a big boost with news that Lionel MESSI will be coming back into the side. Reports coming out of Argentina state that MESSI will be back as the captain and would want to play in the Copa America.

Argentina lost 2-1 to Ecuador in their first match of the second round at the Sudamericano.

For the second time in the tournament, Argentina were unable to defeat Ecuador. Fernando BATISTA’s boys took a 1-0 lead through Thiago ALMADA’s deflected free kick. However, the lead didn’t last too long as just 11 minutes later, CAMPANA drew Ecuador level.

ALMADA’s free kick wasn’t the only one of the match as CHARCOPA scored one of his own in the second half. Fausto VERA of Argentina would get himself sent off just minutes after that.

The next match for Argentina is on Friday against Colombia.

Sergio AGUERO scored his 17th goal of the season in Manchester City’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle.

It took AGUERO about 24 seconds to score the opening goal of the match. A volley inside the penalty area gave Pep GUARDIOLA’s team the 1-0 lead. His goal is the fastest in the Premier League this season.

PSG confirm signing of Argentina midfielder Leandro PAREDES

PSG have confirmed that they have signed Argentina midfielder Leandro PAREDES.

It’s been made official. PAREDES has signed a four and a half year deal, which would keep him at the club until June 30, 2023, this per the club’s official website. Still only 25 years old, PAREDES will be wearing the number 8 shirt at the club.

Speaking on PSG’s website, here’s what PAREDES had to say:

“I’m very proud to be joining Paris Saint-Germain. After my previous experiences in Italy and Russia, I now have this fantastic opportunity, not only to discover a new league, but above all one to wear one the most prestigious club jerseys in the world. I’d like to thank the chairman and the coach for the confidence they have shown in me by signing me.

“We all know the extraordinary sporting dimension of Paris Saint-Germain, its players and staff. I share the same high ambitions and I will do everything I can to give my club what it expects of me as a midfielder. I also look forward to the passionate atmosphere of the Parc des Princes, as I grew up with football fever in Argentina.”
