Sergio AGUERO scores hattrick in Manchester win against Chelsea

Sergio AGUERO scored a hattrick in Manchester City’s 6-0 win against Chelsea.

In a Premier League title race that is extremely close, Manchester City were looking to stay close to Liverpool in the standings. AGUERO received a golden opportunity to extend City’s 1-0 advantage against Chelsea but from close range, missed.

AGUERO would go on and redeem himself with a goal of the season candidate. With a few Chelsea players surrounding him, Manchester City’s all time leading scorer let out a thunderous right footed shot which went into the top corner.

Pep GUARDIOLA’s men would get one more before half time as AGUERO would pounce off a Chelsea mistake to score from close range.

The third for AGUERO would come in the second half through a penalty kick. With that hat hatrick, AGUERO has now rqualled Alan SBEARER’s record of 11 Premier League hat tricks.

Dario BENEDETTO is rumored to get called-up to the Argentina team while Sergio AGUERO would not make the cut.

Lionel SCALONI has big decisions to make in regards to his Argentina selections. March’s friendly matches against Morocco and Venezuela will likely be the last matches prior to the announcement of the Copa America squad.

Along with the highly anticipated return of captain Lionel MESSI, Boca forward Dario BENEDETTO is expected to get called-up. Per a report by Toda Pasion, Dario BENEDETTO would make the team in March as a back-up to Inter captain Mauro ICARDI.

However, should BENEDETTO be picked, this would likely close the door for Sergio AGUERO as the Manchester City forward would miss the Copa America.

Weeks before the 1998 FIFA World Cup, on April 22, 1998, Argentina played a friendly match in Dublin where they won 2-0 against the Republic of Ireland.

A match which saw Gabriel BATISTUTA scoring one of his many, many goals for the Argentina team also produced an Ariel ORTEGA goal which still holds up 20 years later. The first goal came following a ball sent in from the left side which found BATISTUTA who slotted home from close range.

Argentina’s second goal was magic by ORTEGA. With the ball glued to his foot, the number 10 toyed with the Irish back line and goalkeeper Shay GIVEN before chipping the ball over everyone and into the net.

The former River Plate player scored his third goal of the Ligue 1 season, giving his side the win. The hosts Dijon took a 1-0 lead which lasted until the second half. Mario BALOTELLI scored to make it 1-1 and draw Marseille level.

Up stepped Lucas OCAMPOS who played a nutmeg and his shot went into the top corner of the net for his third goal of the Ligue 1 season.
