Argentina coach Lionel SCALONI is reportedly looking at three players to lead his midfield at the Copa America.

With veteran players like Javier MASCHERANO and Lucas BIGLIA retiring from the Argentina national team and the likes of Enzo PEREZ no longer being selected, coach SCALONI is looking at three players for his midfield at the Copa America.

Per a report by TyC Sports, SCALONI has Giovani LO CELSO, Leandro PAREDES and Exequiel PALACIOS in mind for his midfield three come the tournament this summer.

Giovani LO CELSO was included in the World Cup squad but the Real Betis man did feature a single second in Russia. Leandro PAREDES did not make the team while Exequiel PALACIOS made his Argentina debut with SCALONI at the helm.

Lionel MESSI lands in Madrid with Argentina national team, training on Monday

Lionel MESSI has landed in Madrid and will be training with the Argentina national team on Monday.

As we reported on Sunday, a few players of the Argentina national team are currently in Madrid and were in the gym. On Monday, the official Argentina Twitter account tweeted out that captain Lionel MESSI has also landed in Madrid and will join his team mates.

Per the Twitter account, the team will train on Monday where the first 30 minute will be open to the accredited media.

Angel DI MARIA scored twice for PSG in their 3-1 win against Olympique Marseille.

The Argentine scored twice, one of which was a great free kick and assisted the other goal in his team’s league win. With the score at 1-1, DI MARIA scored from a very difficult angle, curving the ball into the side of the net and beating the goalkeeper.

At 2-1, DI MARIA decided to score one of the free kicks of the season. A lovely goal from well outside of the penalty area sealed the victory for PSG.

Lautaro MARTINEZ scores winner for Inter in Derby della Madonnina

Lautaro MARTINEZ scored the winner for Inter in their 3-2 win against rivals AC Milan.

The Argentine looks to finally have found his form for Inter. With him having the coach’s confidence, Lautaro has now started a number of matches and it has paid dividends.

With the score at 2-1, Inter were awarded a penalty kick. The pressure was on Lautato and he made no mistake to make it 3-1 for his team.

Mateo MUSACCHIO would score for AC Milan to make it 3-2 but it wasn’t enough as Inter ran away with the 3 points.

After the match, Inter coach Luciano SPALETTI had this to say:

“Lautaro is powerful, has technique, confidence.

“You just need to look him in the eyes and you can tell he can take on everything. We’ve found a young striker who can sort a lot of things out for us.”

Nicolas OTAMENDI of Manchester City out of Argentina team

Nicolas OTAMENDI is injured and will not be taking part in Argentina’s friendly matches this month.

Per a tweet by the Argentina account, the Manchester City defender won’t play against Venezuela and Morocco. OTAMENDI suffered a sprained left ankle during City’s 3-2 win against Swansea in the FA Cup.

This would mean that both of City’s Argentine representatives, Sergio AGUERO and Nicolas OTAMENDI will not be taking part in the matches.
