Giovanni SIMEONE scored twice for Fiorentina in their 7-1 win against AS Roma.
A massive win for Fiorentina saw SIMEONE score the last two goals of their Coppa Italia match. SIMEONE came on as a substitute and with the score at 5-1 added two more. German PEZZELLA started and played the entire match for Fiorentina.
Javier PASTORE and Federico FAZIO started the match for Roma.
Argentina will play Venezuela and Morocco in March with captain Lionel MESSI returning to the team.
Two friendly matches have been confirmed for Argentina in March. With news coming out that the team would play Venezuela and the Czech Republic, the Czech’s would later opt out of the match and the team have a new opponent.
The first match would be on March 22 against Venezuela with the second on March 26 against Morocco.
Lionel SCALONI’s team would receive a big boost with news that Lionel MESSI will be coming back into the side. Reports coming out of Argentina state that MESSI will be back as the captain and would want to play in the Copa America.
Argentina lost 2-1 to Ecuador in their first match of the second round at the Sudamericano.
For the second time in the tournament, Argentina were unable to defeat Ecuador. Fernando BATISTA’s boys took a 1-0 lead through Thiago ALMADA’s deflected free kick. However, the lead didn’t last too long as just 11 minutes later, CAMPANA drew Ecuador level.
ALMADA’s free kick wasn’t the only one of the match as CHARCOPA scored one of his own in the second half. Fausto VERA of Argentina would get himself sent off just minutes after that.
The next match for Argentina is on Friday against Colombia.
Sergio AGUERO scored his 17th goal of the season in Manchester City’s 2-1 loss to Newcastle.
It took AGUERO about 24 seconds to score the opening goal of the match. A volley inside the penalty area gave Pep GUARDIOLA’s team the 1-0 lead. His goal is the fastest in the Premier League this season.
