Mauro ICARDI hat trick for Inter in derby win

A Mauro ICARDI hat trick for Inter sealed a 3-2 derby win.

Three points in the bag thanks to three goals from Mauro ICARDI. A captain’s performance from the Inter man who scored once in the first half and twice in the second half, his third, a 90th minute penalty.

The first goal came off a cross coming in from ICARDI’s right hand side as he swooped the ball into the back of the net. The second though was the real beauty. Lucas BIGLIA of AC Milan had the ball in midfield but ICARDI pick-pocketed it off him and made a run, passing it to the left to PERISIC who sent in a bouncing pass into the area and a half volley by Inter’s number 9 as the ball went in, hitting the side netting.

ICARDI sealed his hattrick in the 90th minute off a penalty kick. He has now scored 9 goals in 8 matches this season, and four goals in his last two Derby Della Madonnina.

Potential Argentina away shirt for 2018 World Cup

There’s a potential Argentina away shirt which has been making rounds lately.

Earlier in the week, there was a leaked Argentina home shirt was was circulating around the internet. A few days later, a second potential kit has been going around but this time the away one. There’s been talks and rumors throughout the past year that Argentina’s away kit for the World Cup would be different in that it would not be a blue/dark blue color but more of a darker, even a black color.

While the shirt is only a rumored one, Adidas has already made the change for the likes of Germany in recent years (from introducing a red colored away shirt to a black one). Here’s the shirt:

Many have seen the blue/dark blue as being bad luck for Argentina in recent years (2002 World Cup, 2006 World Cup, 2014 World Cup). What do you think? Would you like to see Argentina go with a black kit or should they stick to the blue away shirt?

Lucas BIGLIA: “For number 9, I would prefer HIGUAIN”

43

Lucas BIGLIA has come out speaking to the press about the Argentina National Team.

It’s been a crazy week for Lucas BIGLIA. He started both of Argentina’s final World Cup Qualifying matches against Peru and Ecuador with everything on the line. And according to this interview with TyC Sports, he would have retired from the National Team had Argentina not made it to the 2018 FIFA World Cup. He also spoke about who he would like to see as the number 9 for Argentina. Here’s what he had to say:

Lucas BIGLIA on retirement:

“If we would not have qualified for the World Cup, I’d have retired from Argentina. Myself and several others would have stepped down. I would get to the Argentina team and I had MASCHERANO by my side. Now, thanks to God, I have him behind me.

On Gonzalo HIGUAIN:

“If they asked me to pick a number 9, I’d prefer HIGUAIN. He deserves another World Cup. I’d like to see him as the number 9 once more for the National Team and have him say goodbye in a different way. BENEDETTO and ICARDI are very good. AGUERO, it goes without saying which is why he was called. But I would also like to see HIGUAIN return.

The finals lost:

“The finals which were lost are a thorn. After the second Copa (Copa America final loss), a lot of us thought about leaving. But then the next day we wanted to be back. And we’re going for revenge.

Post match celebration:

“The celebration in the locker room was to let it all out, it wasn’t against anyone. When we didn’t speak to the press, I felt weird because I felt like we weren’t reacing the people (fans). The team doesn’t hate anyone. We started at zero and little by little we went for our objective: Russia.

AC Milan chartering a plane for him:

“I thanked the club (AC Milan) for putting me on the charter. I’m not that relevant for them to do that gesture to me.”
