Argentina won the 1986 FIFA World Cup omn this day 37 years ago.

Diego Maradona and the 1986 Argentina national team became legends. On June 29, 1986, Argentina defeated West Germany 3-2 to win their second FIFA World Cup.

Goals by José Luis Brown, Jorge Valdano and Jorge Burruchaga with Maradona himself providing the assist on the last goal. While national teams did not wear stars on their shirts at the time, this would prove to be the second star for the Argentina national team.

Gerardo Martino named new coach of Inter Miami, will join Lionel Messi

Gerardo Martino has been named as the new coach of Inter Miami where he will join Lionel Messi.

Martino is back coaching in the United States. Inter Miami announced on Wednesday that he is the new coach of the team.

This is Martino’s second time coaching in the MLS, having previously coached Atlanta United where he won the MLS Cup in 2018. He spent two seasons at the club before leaving.

He will also be joining Lionel Messi for the third time. Martino previously coached Messi with FC Barcelona and the Argentina national team.

Luka Romero agrees to join AC Milan

Luka Romero has agreed to join AC Milan.

Romero is reportedly set to become a new AC Milan player as he would join as a free agent. According to Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached and he would sign until June 2027.

The 18 year old has accepted to join them and the documents are being prepared. He was part of the Argentina U20 national team at last month’s U20 World Cup where he was one of the team’s standout players.

Hearts from Scotland, Verona interested in Adolfo Gaich

Adolfo Gaich has drawn interest from both Hearts and Verona.

The Argentine striker spent last season on loan at Hellas Verona from CSKA Moscow and the Italian club could want to keep him. According to Germán García Grova, Verona intends to renew his loan deal.

Hearts, the Scottish club is also reportedly interested in the 24 year old. He scored two goals and had one assist in 16 Serie A matches last season.

Juventus interested in Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur

Juventus are reportedly interested in Cristian Romero of Tottenham Hotspur.

Cristian Romero has drawn interested from Italy. According to both Gastón Edul and Maximiliano Grillo, Juventus are interested in the 25 year old.

Romero presently has a contract with Tottenham which expires in 2026 and a transfer to the club would not be easy.
