Emiliano Martínez is negotiating with Aston Villa to go to the Olympics Argentina.
Martínez has already spoken about possibly going to the Olympics and that could be happening. According to Fernando Czyz, Martinez is speaking with Aston Villa for them to allow him to be with the Argentina team at the Olympics in France.
The 31 year old would occupy one of three over age spots in the team and could be the first overage player confirmed.

Fernández wants to go to the Olympics. According to Fernando Czyz, the 23 year old is negotiating with his club and wants to be with the Argentina national team at the Olympics in France.
At only 23 year, he would not occupy an overage spot in the team.

Martínez has won everything there is to win with the Argentina national team and we could be seeing him at the Olympics. Argentina Olympic coach Javier Mascherano will get to take three players over the age of 23 and Martínez spoke about possibly being one of those players. Speaking in an interview with DSports, here is what he had to say:
“The excitement of going to the Olympics is there. If Javier wants us, we are available.
“The national team is ahead of the clubs, if they don’t want to let us go, we always have the power to say the national team is ahead. Cuti and Ota also want to go.”
Emiliano Martínez spoke about Argentina’s match against El Salvador and how he would have preferred to have played against an England or a Spain.
Martínez played in Argentina’s 3-0 win vs. El Salvador earlier this month and he stated that they would have liked to have played against a different team. Speaking in an interview with DSports, here is what he had to say:
“No disrespect to El Salvador but we would have liked to have played against a top country, we needed a big game in Europe against an England or a Spain.”
Argentina are set to play two friendly matches in June before the Copa America.

Messi will not play on Saturday as he continues to recover. The 36 year old missed Argentna’s two matches against El Salvador and Costa Rica due to an injury.
He will not play on Saturday against New York FC and the idea is for him to be fit for their CONCACAF Champions Cup match against Monterrey on Wednesday.
