The 2026 World Cup kit for the Argentina national team has been released.
Adidas have announced the home shirt for the reigning World Cup champions Argentina for the 2026 World Cup. The kit is inspired from Argentina’s three World Cup winning shirts, 1978, 1986 and the 2022 World Cup winning teams.
Liverpool defeated Real Madrid 1–0 at Anfield in the UEFA Champions League. The only goal of the match came from Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister, who scored with a powerful header in the second half.
Throughout the game, Liverpool created several chances but were denied multiple times by Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. The deadlock was finally broken when a cross from the right found Mac Allister inside the box, and the midfielder rose to head the ball past Courtois to give Liverpool the lead.
With this result, Liverpool moved into the qualification zone for the round of 16, matching Real Madrid in points in Group C. The Spanish side played without Franco Mastantuono, who was unavailable due to a groin injury.
Julián Álvarez scored for Atlético de Madrid in their 3–1 home win over Union Saint-Gilloise in the UEFA Champions League. The Argentine forward opened the scoring with an assist from Giuliano Simeone at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium.
The play began with a counterattack led by Simeone on the right side. After advancing into the box, he sent a low pass back to Álvarez, who controlled the ball and finished with a volley in the 39th minute to make it 1–0 for Atlético.
Nahuel Molina started for Atlético de Madrid, while Thiago Almada came on in the 62nd minute. For the Belgian side, Kevin Mac Allister played the entire match.
Álvarez has now scored nine goals in 14 matches across all competitions in the 2025/26 season. The former River Plate player recently surpassed his total number of goals from his time at Manchester City, doing so in nearly one thousand fewer minutes.
Emiliano Martínez is not expected to be called up to the Argentina national team for the match against Angola.
Martínez will not be called-up for the match against Angola and will be rested. According to TyC Sports, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni will not call hin up as he wants to give minutes to the other goalkeepers.
Argentina play Angola on January 14 in Angola but will be training in Spain.
Argentina’s U17 national team started their FIFA U17 World Cup campaign in Qatar with a 3-2 win over Belgium. The team, led by Diego Placente, began Group D with three points.
The match took place at the Mohammed Ghanim Stadium in Doha. Belgium had more control early in the game, but Argentina opened the scoring in the 36th minute when Ramiro Tulián scored from a rebound inside the box. Before halftime, De Kimpe equalized for Belgium with a close-range shot.
In the second half, Stan Naert scored in the 60th minute to put Belgium ahead 2-1. Argentina responded quickly. Facundo Jainikoski made it 2-2 in the 70th minute, and Felipe Esquível scored three minutes later to give Argentina the lead.
Argentina will continue their Group D campaign against Tunisia on Thursday, November 6, and Fiji on Sunday, November 9.
