Lionel Messi will miss PSG’s league game vs. Lorient.

Messi will not play against Lorient due to an inflammation. According to Gastón Edul, he will return training normally with PSG in two or three days. He doesn’t want to take any risks but Messi is fine.

PSG have two league games remaining before the World Cup. The first against Lorient on Sunday and the second against Auxerre.

Juan Musso spoke about his current form, the World Cup, the Argentina national team and Emiliano Dibu Martínez.

Musso missed three games for Atalanta due to a fractured jaw. Back with Atalanta, Musso is part of Argentina’s preliminary team for the World Cup. Speaking in an interview with TyC Sports, Musso had this to say:

“On one hand I’m anxious but I’m also calm because I know that I did everything and I work hard to maintain the level in a league that is difficult. The team also demands it with a great preparation and physical form. We had a good start and wea re doing well in the league. I am leaving everything, these are decisions that are obviously made by the coach.”

Regarding the Argentina national team:

“I feel part of the group and the process, we live very beautiful things. The Argentina national team will always be the performance of the present. Most have a good presence in their teams, as expected and as expected, that keeps the base.

“It’s difficult because you have to perform every weekend and not lower your level. I strive to train 100% every day. The national team is always a prize for that.”

The difference between himself and Emiliano Dibu Martinez:

“I can’t say. Dibu is very complete. I believe that the goalkeeper today needs to be ready for everything, like playing with the feet and cutting plays and crosses. He is a good goalkeeper with a good physique. I also feel fit, that’s why I don’t like to compare.”

Gonzalo Higuaín commented on the Argentina national team, the difficulties at a World Cup and Gio Lo Celso.

Higuaín played in three World Cups for Argentina, having reached one final in 2014 in Brazil. Having spoken about Lionel Messi and his speech prior to the 2021 Copa America final, Higuaín also spoke about the Argentina national team. Here is what he had to say:

“I see the national team as doing very well. Winning the Copa America unlocks the mental factor. Always winning makes your job much easier and you have more enthusiasm when facing the challenges that come your way.”

He also states that a World Cup is “completely different from everything.”

And to win the World Cup, “the planets have to be aligned, that no player gets injured.”

Regarding the opening match at a World Cup:

“It’s not easy for anyone. The first game is against Saudi Arabia but I wouldn’t categorize it as an easy game, far from it.”

About Argentina’s most recent opening games at World Cups:

“Argentina in the last World Cups has not won any of the first games with ease. It has always been difficult.”

How he arrived to the 2014 World Cup:

“I arrived at the World Cup in Brazil with a sprained ankle. But by having a month or so for the start, you can take a little more time to recover.”

Having the 2022 World Cup being played in November and December:

“There is something that I don’t agree with and that is when they say that the WOrld Cup is played in December, it’s much better. There are injuries and it’s even worse.

“When you play a World Cup in June, you play in a normal calendar.

“All the matches that you would have to play after January, many of them are put before the World Cup. The number of games in October and November is very high.”

Gonzalo Higuaín spoke about Lionel Messi’s Copa America final speech.

Higuaín played several tournaments with Lionel Messi and the Argentina national team. They were both part of the 2010 World Cup, 2011 Copa America, 2014 World Cup where the team reached the final and the 2015 and 2016 Copa America finals.

Now retired, Gonzalo Higuaín spoke about Lionel Messi’s speech which is part of the recent Argentina documentary on Netflix. Speaking in an interview with TyC Sports, here is what he had to say:

“The speech from the other day gave me goosebumps. He doesn’t realise what he does to others, what he says comes through in a tremendous way.

“The last day he came to Miami, we had a very long chat, very nice in which we didn’t talk about football. I got to know him deeper as a person and was pleasantly surprised.
