Walter Kannemann has been called up to Argentina’s preliminary list for the World Cup.
Kannemann has found himself back in the Argentina team. According to César Luis Merlo, Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni has called him up.
His club Gremio have already been informed about it. The 31-year-old center back last played for Argentina in a 6-1 win in 2019 vs. Ecuador.
Gio Lo Celso’s injured could be worse than initially feared as tests will be repeated.
Lo Celso was substituted out for Villarreal and while initially it was that he could only be out for Argentina’s opening game at the World Cup, it now could be worse. According to Gastón Edul, tests will have to be repeated on him as it’s feared that it could be worse than expected.
His injury changes the plans and there is concern within the Argentina national team staff about his injury.
Gerónimo Rulli is set to be Argentina’s second choice goalkeeper at the World Cup with no Juan Musso.
Rulli looks set to be included in the Argentina team for the World Cup. According to Gastón Edul, Rulli will be taken to the World Cup and Juan Musso won’t be in Qatar.
Emiliano Dibu Martínez is the first choice with Franco Armani now third choice goalkeeper. Rulli will be ahead of Armani.

Cristian Cuti Romero won’t play for Tottenham Hotspur in their Champions League game vs. Marseille.
Cuti Romero will not play against Marseille as he will have missed three of their last four games. Tottenham Hotspur assistant coach Cristian Stellini spoke on Monday about Romero. Here is what he had to say:
“The only news is that Cuti Romero is not available for the match tomorrow. We are sorry, but it is what it is. We have other players available, we have a good squad and we are well prepared to play a tough game, a knockout game like tomorrow.”
Romero has been rested due to muscle fatigue.
Gio Lo Celso has suffered a muscle injury and could miss Argentina’s opening game at the World Cup.
Lo Celso was substituted off injured for Villarreal in their last league game and results have shown that he does have an injury. According to Gastón Edul, he has suffered a muscle injury to his right foot and will be out for three weeks.
It would mean that he will be a doubt for Argentina’s opening game at the World Cup vs. Saudi Arabia.
