Andrés Iniesta spoke about the Argentina national team, Lionel Messi and Argentine players

Iniesta is regarded as one of the best midfielders not only of his generation but of all time. A winner of two European Cups with Spain and scored the goal which gave Spain their first World Cup, there is nothing the 38 year old has not accomplished.

Now playing in Japan and retired from the national team, Iniesta spent most of his club career with FC Barcelona and playing alongside Lionel Messi. Speaking in an interview with TyC Sports, here is what Iniesta had to say in regards to the Argentina national team:

“Argentina are one of the favorites for the World Cup. They have a great team with experience, young players, they are in good form. If Leo is there, of course they are one of the favorites.”

In regards to Lionel Messi:

“I have no doubt that Messi is the number one in the history of football. I haven’t seen anyone do the things that he does.”

He also spoke about Pablo Aimar:

“I saw him play when he was in Spain. For those of us who watch football, it was always special to see him play.”

Regarding Roman Riquelme:

“We exchanged a few messages with Riquelme and we have stayed in contact. I would like for him to invite me to La Bombonera. The atmosphere is spectacular.”

Brighton are being linked with Facundo Buonanotte of Rosario Central.

Facundo Buonanotte was being heavily linked with a move to the Premier League club in the last transfer window. After Buonanotte and his agent confirmed the move to the club, Rosario Central would reject Brighton’s offer for the player.

The club have another offer for the 17 year old attacking midfielder. According to César Luis Merlo, it’s an offer of $6 million plus $6 million in bonuses. One detail is left and the contract would be until June 2026.

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag commented on Alejandro Garnacho winning Player of the Match.

Erik ten Hag started Alejandro Garnacho for the club in their 3-0 win vs. Sheriff in the Europa League and the 18 year old repaid him. Garnacho was named as the Player of the Match in the win.

The Manchester United coach spoke to the media after the win. Here is what he had to say:

I think it was a good performance from him. He did what I expected him to do,” Ten Hag said afterwards.

“In the last weeks, he had a better attitude, more resilience, more determination and what you see is he is a talent to deal with the ball in tight areas, to run behind and especially also his tempo dribbles – he can take players on and that’s a good capability in his football.

“He deserved his chance, but there is still a lot of room for improvement, especially in the defending part, in the pressing part, in the counter press, in the defence transition.

“But you can see, in tight areas, he can find solutions.”

Garnacho has won his first Player of the Match award for Manchester United in their 3-0 win vs. Sheriff. The Argentine started the game for Erik ten Hag’s team and the 18 year old stole the show.

Prior to the game, Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag had this to say about starting Garnacho:

“Alejandro Garnacho has impressed me in training and so he deserves to play”.

Gio Simeone commented on his two goals scored for Napoli and the Argentina national team.

Simeone had two goals for Napoli in their win vs. Rangers. The Argentine has four goals in four games in the Champions League and has been in great form.

The 27 year old has been included in Argentina’s preliminary list for the 2022 World Cup. Speaking with SCESPN in Argentina, the Argentine commented on trying to make the Argentina team. Here is what he had to say:
