Lisandro Martínez will go up against Julián Álvarez in the Manchester derby on Sunday.

It’s going to be a battle of two of Argentina’s best young players on Sunday with the international break now over. Manchester City host eternal rivals Manchester United.

Both players featured for the Argentina national team in the most recent international break and will now play against each other. Of the two, Lisandro is the most likely to start.

Cristian Romero and Tottenham Hotspur visit their eternal rivals Arsenal in the first game of the weekend in the Premier League. Alexis Mac Allister, who is also part of the Argentina team, is away with Brighton vs. Liverpool.

Marcos Senesi and Bournemouth will hope to try and get some points as they host Brentford. Manuel Lanzini and West Ham host Wolves.

In the last game on Sunday, Emiliano Dibu Martínez and Emiliano Buendía are away to Leeds United.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni decided not to risk Paulo Dybala during Argentina’s last two games against Honduras and Jamaica.

Paulo Dybala was called up to the Argentina national team by Lionel Scaloni but was not even on the bench in the 3-0 win against Jamaica on Tuesday. According to TyC Sports, Scaloni did not want to risk him.

Dybala had suffered a knock to his left foot during AS Roma’s pre-game warm up. While Dybala had fully recovered and was with the Argentina team, Scaloni did not want to take any risks.

This could mean that Lionel Scaloni does not need to see any more of Dybala with Argentina and that the 28 year old surely has a place in the World Cup team.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni commented on Lionel Messi following the team’s 3-0 win vs. Jamaica.

Lionel Messi started Argentina’s 3-0 win vs. Jamaica on the bench. Coach Lionel Scaloni would bring him on as a substitute and Messi would score two goals.

Scaloni also played with Messi prior to coaching him as the two were part of the 2006 Argentina national team for the World Cup. Now coaching him, speaking with TyC Sports, here is what Scaloni had to say about Messi after the team’s 3-0 win:

“I enjoy him just like you. He is like Federer. He retired and the entire world got emotional thinking he won’t be here anymore. It was wonderful to see him play. The same thing with him, although much more because football is a sport that moves much more. It’s why the entire world enjoys him, regardless of the country.

“It’s wonderful to see. I have the possibility of coaching him but if I were a fan, I would pay the ticket. The only thing left is to enjoy him because I don’t know if there will ever be anything like him.”

Following the team’s 3-0 win, it was confirmed that Scaloni had renewed his contract with the Argentina national team.

Lionel Scaloni has renewed his contract and will remain coach of the Argentina national team until the 2026 World Cup.

Scaloni has signed his contract renewing with the Argentina national team. AFA president Chiqui Tapia confirmed that Scaloni has signed on until the 2026 World Cup following several weeks and months of negotations.

He first became interim coach of the Argentina national team in 2018 after being part of the 2018 World Cup coaching staff. He would become permanent coach in 2018 and coach the team at the 2019 Copa America.

Still only 44 years old, Scaloni became the first coach since Alfio Basile to lead the Argentina national team to a trophy. The team would win the 2021 Copa America in Brazil and the 2022 Finalissima against Italy.

The Argentina national team are presently undefeated in their last 35 games.

Lionel Messi scored twice as a substitute for Argentina in their 3-0 win vs. Jamaica.

Messi started the game on the bench as all eyes in the stadium were on him. It was Julian Alvarez who started the game in place of Messi, who had cold-like symptoms.

Julian Alvarez would start and Julian Alvarez would score. After great work by Lautaro Martinez, Alvarez would score his second goal for the Argentina national team to give Argentina the 1-0 lead.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni did not make any substitutions at half time but Messi was warming up. Messi would be brought on as a substitute for Lautaro Martinez as the New Jersey crowd in the stadium would get to see the best player in the world.

The ball would fall to Messi and with one man marking him, Messi would score from outside of the penalty area to give Argentina the 2-0 lead. The fans would go crazy but Messi was not done.

A free kick for Argentina and Messi would roll the ball under the wall and score. He has now scored 90 goals for the Argentina national team.

It is now 35 games undefeated for Argentina.
