Emiliano Dibu Martínez commented on the Argentina national team and the World Cup.

Dibu Martínez is Argentina’s starting goalkeeper as he was in goal for the Finalissima vs. Italy. Now on vacation in Argentina, Dibu spoke with Doble Amarilla in regards to the World Cup. Here is what he had to say:

“I want to win things with the national team. I don’t even go out for coffee with friends. I am obsessed with my work. I want to be the best goalkeeper at the World Cup.”

Martínez also commented on the team:

“We were closed together for 45, 50 days at the Copa America and I living with my team mates, with the people that work with the national team is a source of pride. It’s a huge pride to defend these colors.

“My knee is in perfect condition. If I had a final tomorrow, I’d play it and I’d going to win it.”

Leandro Paredes spoke about the Argentina national team and Lionel Messi.

Paredes has been an integral part in the Argentina national team. He is one of the players who has represented the team the most since Lionel Scaloni took over as coach.

The Argentine was part of the 2021 Copa America team which lifted the trophy in Brazil. Speaking in an interview with Todo Pasa, here is what he had to say in regards to the Copa America:

“After the match vs. Colombia, we knew that something nice could happen, that something historic could happen and we were much more confident than when the Copa first started.”

In regards to Lionel Messi:

“For us, it’s very important that he is well, happy, enjoying everything we are living. He suffered a lot with the Argentina national team. It’s nice that today, he’s enjoying it.

“It shows every time we have to come to the Argentina national team, how he enjoys it, how he lives it. He knows that it may be his last World Cup and he enjoys it more. It’s nice to win, to be how we are. Doing it with him is more than enough.”

Alejandro Garnacho part of Toulon XI, named Revelation of tournament

Alejandro Garnacho is the only Argentine to make the Toulon XI as he was also named as the Revelation of the tournament.

Garnacho had four goals and one assist in four matches for Argentina. Javier Mascherano’s team finished fifth in the tournament in large part of the 17 year old.

One goal against Panama, two goals against France and one against Japan, along with an assist, were enough to get him into the team.

World Cup teams to be expanded to 26 players for 2022 Qatar

World Cup teams will be expendaded to 26 players for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

Teams will be taking 26 players and not the traditional 23 for the World Cup. Per Gastón Edul, the decision was approved by the IFAB in Qatar.

It will be 11 players with 15 substitutes.

Alejandro Garnacho wins Toulon Goal of the Tournament for Argentina

Alejandro Garnacho won the Goal of the Tournament for the Argentina U20 national team at Toulon.

Garnacho finished the tournament with four goals and one assist in four matches. One goal against Panama, two against France and his last one against Japan.

Still only 17 years old, Garnacho was called up to the preliminary list of the Argentina national team back in March and has since featured for the Argentina U20 team.

Javier Mascherano, the coach of the Argentina U20 team called the player up to the team for the youth tournament in France. And it was in the team’s 6-2 loss vs. France where Garnacho scored the goal of the tournament.

Argentina were awarded a free kick and Garnacho took it and scored. It was his first of two goals in that match.
