Aguero remained in the starting eleven for Manchester City after returning from injury and scored the first goal of the match on Wednesday in the Champions League. Pep Guardiola’s team were awarded a penalty and it was the Argentine who converted.
Lionel Messi scored for Barcelona in their 5-1 win vs. Ferencvaros.
Messi would receive the ball on the right wing, dribble towards goal as he beat his markers and got fouled inside the penalty area. He would score the penalty which was awarded and would make Champions League history. Messi is the first player to ever since in 16 consecutive seasons of the tournament.
The Argentine would extend a record which he holds, scoring against 36 different teams of the Champions League. The third record is that he has now scored 69 goals in the Champions League group stage, which is more than any other player.

A total of 26 Argentine players will be taking part in this season’s Champions League with matches beginning on Tuesday.
Every group will have one Argentine participating, with three groups having five Argentine players. Of the 26 players, only two of them have won the Champions League. Lionel Messi having won it four times with FC Barcelona and Ángel Di María in 2014 with Real Madrid where he was arguably the best player of the final. Here are the groups:

Giovanni Simeone scored twice for Cagliari in their 3-2 win vs. Torino.
With the score at 1-1, Simeone would give Cagliari the lead through his first goal of the game. A low pass sent into the penalty area found the Argentine who would control it and score from close range. Simeone would make it 3-1 as a poacher like finish would prove to be the winner.
Simeone is now on three goals in four matches.
