Players nominated for Ballon d’Or, other awards

7

Before getting to the news, I would like to apologize for the lack of updates the past few days. We have been very busy doing some behind the scenes work on some new things at Mundo.

With that said, four Argentine’s have been nominated for the Ballon d’Or France Football award.

Lionel MESSI, Paulo DYBALA, Sergio AGÜERO and Gonzalo HIGUAIN.

Lionel MESSI, Paulo DYBALA, Gonzalo HIGUAIN and Sergio AGÜERO have all been nominated for the award. Though MESSI is the only one of the four with a real chance of winning it, the likely winner this year remains Cristiano RONALDO.

In other award news, the La Liga awards came out and there are a few other winners as well. Lionel MESSI won the award for the league’s best striker (best player award went to Luis SUAREZ)), Diego SIMEONE won the best coach and Alex SZYMANOWSKI won the player of the year for his performances last season in the second division.

Paulo DYBALA has picked up yet another injury while playing for Juventus. The injury was initially feared to be a tear but it has since been reported that it is not. DYBALA is expected to be out for 2 weeks and is a doubt for next month’s World Cup Qualifying.

There are rumors that Fernando BELLUSCHI could be called as a replacement.

Rumor of BAUZA stepping down, SAMPAOLI taking over

48

A rumor that’s been swirling around the media since Friday and one that would surely make many Argentina fans happy.

There’s a rumor making rounds that in December, Edgardo BAUZA will step down as Argentina National Team coach. The new coach? Well, according to the rumor, it would be Sevilla’s Jorge SAMPAOLI.

I can’t seem to find the original source of the rumor but it’s something which has been reported even in some media outlets in Argentina. The only way I can see this whole thing happening is if the AFA Have a secret agreement going on with Sevilla and SAMPAOLI which would allow him to take over. Other than that, I can’t see how this would happen.
