Ángel Correa commented on getting called up to the Argentina national team for the 2022 World Cup.

Correa has been called up for Argentina as Nicolás González is injured. The 27 year old was part of the preliminary list of players for Argentina but left out of the original final team.

Argentina national team coach made two changes to the 2022 World Cup team. Correa replaces Nicolás González and Thiago Almada replaces Joaquín Correa. Speaking at an airport in Argentina, here is what Correa had to say about being called up:

“The truth is that this call up took me by surprise because it caught me in Rosario enjoying myself with my family. That’s why I’m going to Qatar with a big dream.”

“I spoke with Thiago Almada and he is very happy. It’s a big joy, a reward for all of the work that I have done over the years and I am going to enjoy it to the fullest.”

Marcos Acuña will be physically tested on Friday for the Argentina national team.

Acuña played for Argentina in the 5-0 win vs. United Arab Emirates and had an assist on an Angel Di Maria goal. He appears to not be physically fullt fit and according to Gastón Edul, the Argentina coaching staff saw him fit in the game but they will physically test him during training.

Nicolás González and Joaquín Correa will both not be going to the World Cup as Ángel Correa replaces Nicolás González and Thiago Almada replaces Joaquín Correa.

Almada has made the World Cup team. The Argentina account have announced that Thiago Almada has replaced Joaquín Correa in the Argentina team for the World Cup as Correa is injured.

The 21 year old replaces Joaquín Correa as Ángel Correa replaces Nicolás González.

Joaquín Correa is out of the Argentina national team for the World Cup with a replacement expected in the next few hours.

Correa is not going to be at the World Cup. The Argentina account have stated that Correa is injured and that a replacement will be named today.

With the announcement that Nicolás González is out for Argentina and Ángel Correa has been named as a replacement, there are reports of three names as a possible replacement. According to Gastón Edul, one of Gio Simeone, Thiago Almada and Alejandro Garnacho would be one of the replacements for Correa.
