Nicolás González is out of the 2022 World Cup for Argentina and Ángel Correa has been called up.

González has been ruled out of the World Cup. The Argentina account on Twitter has stated that following Thursday’s training session, González has suffered a muscle injury.

Ángel Correa is instead called up as a replacement. Correa was part of the preliminary list of players but was cut from the original list of 26 for the World Cup.

Joaquín Correa has some discomfort in his knee but no injury.

Correa came on as a substitute and scored for Argentina in the 5-0 win vs. United Arab Emirates but he is the player who finished the game discomfort. According to Gastón Edul, he finished the game with pain in his left knee.

He had recovered from a knee injury before the World Cup and what he has is not an injury but a persistent discomfort. Nicolás González and Marcos Acuña were under physical observation but are fine and it looks to be Correa who has the discomfort.

Players recovered, football reasons could be reason for possible Argentina change

Nicolás González and Marcos Acuña were two players that had reportedly been under physical observation by the Argentina national team but have recovered. According to Gastón Edul, the two players will be ready for Argentina’s opening game at the World Cup vs. Saudi Arabia.

In regards to González, if not the game vs. the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, it would be the second game at the World Cup. If there is a change in the Argentina national team for the World Cup, it would not be because of injuries but because of football reasons.

The Argentina national team have landed in Qatar for the World Cup.

Argentina took a flight from Abu Dhabi to Doha, Qatar following their 5-0 win on Wednesday. Lionel Scaloni’s team arrived at 2:00 am on Thursday morning.

A first practice in Doha will be held in the afternoon as the team will be staying at the University of Qatar.

Marcos Acuña and Nicolás González are under physical observation by the Argentina national team.

Acuña started and played in Argentina’s 5-0 win vs. the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday. According to Gastón Edul, they are the two players under observation.

Argentina national team coach Lionel Scaloni stated after the win that there could still be changes to the 2022 World Cup team.
