PSG inquire about Mauro Icardi, Inter could accept Arsenal swap deal for Aubameyang

3

Mauro Icardi is reportedly wanted by the two clubs, per several reports.

Icardi, still an Inter player, has been on loan at PSG all season. Scoring 12 goals and providing 3 assists in 20 league games, the Argentine is not set to be returning to Inter once the loan deal concludes. Per a report by L’Équipe, PSG will look to make Icardi’s transfer a permanent one.

Per the report, Icardi has apparently already agreed to provisional contract terms. However, with the current situation being what it is due to the global pandemic, PSG will try to lower the €70 million release clause. L’Équipe also reported that Inter are aware of PSG’s interest and could even accept a lower price should a PSG player be included in the deal.

Arsenal are another team which apparently would want to sign the Rosario native. Per a report by Tuttosport, should Icardi not sign with PSG, Inter could try to make a swap deal with Arsenal. The deal would see Icardi going to London while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would go to Inter in the exchange.

Leandro Paredes spoke in an interview with Fox Sports Argentina where he discussed Lionel Messi’s incorporation into the current Argentina national team squad.

The Argentina and PSG midfielder has become a staple in Lionel Scaloni’s midfield. Playing 24 matches with the national team, Paredes is surely one not only for the present but for the future of the team. Speaking in the interview, here’s what Paredes had to say about Messi:

“We treat him just like another one (of the boys). That made it so that Leo incorporates much faster. It’s difficult, it’s not easy to treat him just like anyone else.

“We try to make it so that he feels comfortable, for him to know that we are all going in the same direction, that everyone will be with him. I believe that was very good not only for him but for all of us.”

“Alejandro had an advantage, as much with Estudiantes as he did with the Argentina national team: He knew where he was going. All of his experience, his age, his ways, his values, it all made him different when it came to giving you information. At the end of every chat, he would have a message, something. There was emotion, his own experience. In some of the chats, I would end up crying, I’d end up with tears.”

Still only 31 years old, Fernandez made his Estudiantes debut back in 2008 where he would later go on to play under Sabella at the 2014 World Cup.
