Ezequiel LAVEZZI and PASTORE doubts for Copa

Ezequiel LAVEZZI and Javier PASTORE both have knocks.

Some breaking news coming out of Argentina as Ezequiel LAVEZZI and Javier PASTORE both appear to be doubts for Argentina.

The two trained seperately from the rest of the team today and have undergone tests to determine the seriousness of the injuries. Following the tests, both could be out for up to 15 days as they have small muscle injuries. It’ll be up to MARTINO to decide if he will keep them in the squad or not.

However, local reporters in Argentina are saying that the replacement for LAVEZZI would be Lautaro ACOSTA.

Argentina’s itinerary for the Copa America

Argentina’s itinerary for the start of the Copa America.

Players from the Argentina National Team are already in Ezeiza training.

All the players bar those from the Copa del Rey final (Lionel MESSI, Javier MASCHERANO and Ever BANEGA) are in Argentina and training. But there’s one match before the start of the Copa America. On Friday, Argentina will travel to San Juan to play Honduras which will serve as the farewell match before they take off to the United States.

From San Juan, they’ll travel to Mendoza before taking a flight to Santa Clara, California on May 28 ahead of their opening match of the tournament against Chile. This is where things start to get Messi (pardon the bad joke).

Lionel MESSI will take part in the match against Honduras but will have to travel back to Barcelona where he will have a court hearing due to his tax evasion. The hearing will take place from May 31 until June 3. Following the hearing, he will travel to California on June 4 and take part in the opening match of the Copa America.

The team will then travel to Chicago on June 7, ahead of their match against Panama. Following that, they’ll travel to Seattle to play Bolivia.

AFA could intervene in DYBALA decision

The Paulo DYBALA not going to the Olympics for Argentina situation isn’t over yet.

Reports coming out that the AFA will likely intervene and speak to Juventus regarding the release of Paulo DYBALA to the Olympics.

Since the Olympics are not an official FIFA event, Juventus does not have to release DYBALA. As was the case between Lionel MESSI and Barcelona in 2008 which was resolved when then-new coach Pep GUARDIOLA gave his blessing and allowed MESSI to travel with Argentina.

Normally, the fears which clubs tend to have when not wanting to release a player is obviously the factor of the player getting injured. In Juventus’ case, the Olympics fall just a few weeks prior to the start of the Serie A season and would mean that DYBALA would likely miss pre-season for the Serie A champions. There’s also the case of Juventus possibly not wanting to pay the insurance fee should DYBALA get injured.

As of now, the verdict stands that Paulo DYBALA will not be going to the Olympic games in Rio but should the AFA intervene, that could change.

Luciano VIETTO being linked out of Atletico

Despite Atletico Madrid making the final of the 2016 Champions League, Luciano VIETTO’s personal first season at the club hasn’t been ideal. After joining Diego SIMEONE’s side from Villarreal, VIETTO has found playing time hard to come by at the Calderon.

Media in Spain is linking VIETTO to a move to Celta Vigo and according to a report, the negotiations are said to be at an advanced stage.
