Alejandro Garnacho in FourFourTwo’s Top 10 most exciting teenagers

Alejandro Garnacho has been named in FourFourTwo’s Top 10 most exciting teenagers in the world.

Garnacho is undoubetedly an exciting talent and one of Argentina’s best young players. He was first called up to the Argentina national team early 2022 and while he did train with the senior team, he did not play with them.

Born in Spain to an Argentine mother, Garnacho first represented Spain at youth level but following his call-up to Argentina, he would play the U20 level for Javier Mascherano’s U20 team. Garnacho took part in the Toulon youth tournament where he was named the revelation of the tournament, part of the tournament’s Best XI and scored the best goal of the tournament.

He would also play for Manchester United’s youth team and now part of their senior squad. The 18 year old continues to do well for his club and has been included in FourFourTwo’s top 50 most exciting teenagers as he made it into eighth place. Here are the top ten:

Lionel Scaloni named 2022 IFFHS Men’s World Best National Team coach

Lionel Scaloni has been named the 2022 IFFHS Men’s World Best National Team coach.

Scaloni finished with 240 points, ahead of second place Didier Deschamps with 45 points. The Argentine manager won the 2022 Finalissima and the World Cup.

His award goes with Lionel Messi who won three IFFHS awards. The first and second being the Men’s Best International Goalscorer and the World’s Best Player and the most recent is the World’s Best Playmaker award.

Lautaro Martínez scores for Inter in 2-2 draw vs. Monza

Lautaro Martínez scored for Inter in their 2-2 draw vs. Monza on matchday 17 of the Serie A.

Although his team couldn’t get the win after conceding the equalizing goal in the last minutes of the stoppage time, the Argentine striker was able to score and momentarily give Inter the 2-1 lead in the first half. After great individual pressing and some questional decision making from the Monza defender, he could recover the ball and shoot with nearly an open goal.

Based on the Sofascore ratings of the game, Lautaro was the best player of the match along
with Matteo Pessina of Monza, both with a 7.8 rating. On the other hand, the other Argentine at Inter, Joaquín Correa, was on the bench and didn’t get any minutes on the field in the draw.

Alexis Mac Allister scored twice for Brighton in their 5-1 win vs. Middlesbrough.

Mac Allister scored his first goal since scoring against Poland for Argentina at the World Cup. He was brought on as a substitute in their FA Cup match and a back heel flick by Mac Allister found the back of the goal and he gave Brighton the 3-1 lead.

Brighton were also awarded a free kick which Mac Allister took but he hit the post. But he would get another goal.

The Argentine scored a goal similar to the one he scored vs. Poland with Argentina at the World Cup. A pass into the penalty area and he would side foot it and score his second goal of the match.

Nicolás González scores for Fiorentina in 2-1 win vs. Sassuolo

Nicolás González scored for Fiorentina in their 2-1 win vs. Sassuolo.

González has returned for Fiorentina and scored the goal which gave them the win. After missing the World Cup with the Argentina national team, he has made his return for the club and scored his first goal since the World Cup.

With the score at 1-1, Fiorentina were awarded a penalty kick in injury time and it was González who took it. He would score to give Fiorentina the 2-1 win.
