Javier Mascherano names Argentina U20 team for COTIF tournament

Javier Mascherano has named his Argentina U20 team for the COTIF tournament.

Mascherano will be coaching in his second tournament in charge of the Argentina U20 national team. After finishing fifth in the Toulon tournament last month, he will now coach at the COTIF tournament in Spain.

With several of the European based players excluded for the COTIF tournament, Mascherano has still called up Nicolas Paz of Real Madrid, Rafael Pfauser of SC Freiburg and Alvaro Killane of U.D. Las Palmas. Here is the team which he has selected:

Paulo Dybala has broken Cristiano Ronaldo’s shirt sales record with AS Roma.

Dybala has joined AS Roma and many purchased his shirt. According to Ole Clarin, Dybala broke Cristiano Ronaldo’s record of selling the most shirts in one day, after he had joined Juventus.

The Argentine now holds the record for most jerseys sold in Italy in one day. Still only 28 years old, Dybala signed with AS Roma earlier this week, joining them as a free agent.

Juventus interested in Leandro Paredes of PSG

Juventus is reportedly interested in Leandro Paredes of Paris Saint-Germain. Per La Gazzettam dello Sport, the Argentine defensive midfielder is currently the main target of coach Massimiliano Allegri.

The last few years, “La Vecchia Signora” has been interested in Paredes with reports every transfer market stating that they would like to sign him. This time, they want the Argentine to replace Aaron Ramsey, who is not in Allegri’s plans according to Fabrizio Romano.

Per Tuttosport, Juventus’ intention is to offer a loan with a purchase obligation of around €15 million. On the other hand, they say that PSG will not negotiate for the 28-year-old for less than €20 million.

The former Boca Juniors man already knows what it is like to play in the Serie A as he wore the jerseys of AC Chievo Verona, Empoli FC and AS Roma. Also, he might have the chance to play once more with his friend Ángel Di María, who has recently joined Juventus.

Joaquín Blázquez of Talleres is set to join Ligue 1 club Stade Brestois.

An agreement is in place for the 21 year old Argentine goalkeeper to join the Ligue 1 team. According to César Luis Merlo, he would be joining on a one year loan with an option to buy.

Blázquez has represented Argentina at youth level and was part of the team at the 2019 COTIF tournament while also being part of the U20 team at the 2019 FIFA World Cup. He previously spent one year on loan at Valencia B in Spain.

Argentina national team series on Amazon Prime Video released on July 22

The Argentina national team series on Amazon Prime Video is set to be released on Friday, July 22.

Argentina’s Amazon Prime Video series, which was originally set to be released on July 10 has been pushed back. The video will instead be released tomorrow with the first two episodes.

As we reported last month, the series will cover Argentina at the 2021 Copa America, the road to the 2022 Qatar World Cup and the Finalissima. It will cover behind the scenes footage with many anticipating to watch Lionel Messi’s famous Copa America final speech.
