As part of the 50 days, 50 Argentina World Cup moments, we will be counting down the top 50 Argentina moments at a World Cup using the daily number.

We are just 36 days until the start of the FIFA World Cup and in 36th place we have Mauricio PINEDA scoring in the 36th minute against Croatia at the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

Following a 1-0 win against Japan and a resounding 5-0 victory against Jamaica, Argentina’s final group match at the 1998 FIFA World Cup came against Croatia, one of their opponents at the 2018 FIFA World Cup. A single goal, by Maurio PINEDA in minute number 36 was the difference as Daniel PASSARELLA’s men picked up a 1-0 win.

A lovely chipped pass by Ariel ORTEGA and PIENDA was all alone against the goalkeeper with the Croatian defenders closing in on him but he made no mistaken and scored with a powerful left footed shot.

  1. I heard in some video that we should not play with three forwards because in this case one forward is waste because of Messi.I think it is right. But if we go with two forward we should have players like Higuain and Bendetto.Who runs throughout the front line.
