Lionel MESSI scores twice for FC Barcelona in win against Manchester United

Lionel MESSI scored twice in the Champions League for FC Barcelona in their 3-0 win against Manchester United.

With the first match ending 1-0 for the Catalan’s, the second match at the Camp Nou was business as usual. That is to say the Lionel MESSI show.

Barcelona’s captain scored two very different goals. One of sheer brilliance and the second with some luck. With the ball at his feet, MESSI with a nutmeg through FRED and a left footed shot from outside of the area beat goalkeeper David DE GEA and gave Barcelona the 1-0 lead.

The second goal saw MESSI shoot with his right foot but a blunder by the goalkeeper and it was 2-0 for Barcelona.

MESSI’s two goals bring him to 10 this season in the Champions League, making him the top scorer. With his goals, he has now scored 24 times in 32 matches against English clubs.

The quarter finals of the Champions League continue on Tuesday as we preview the Argentine players.

At least one Argentine will be eliminated today as Paulo DYBALA’s bring their 1-1 away goal advantage to Turin against Ajax. DYBALA, who didn’t have the best of matches on the weekend, will look to try and redeem himself.

Nicolas TAGLIAFICO and Lisandro MAGALLAN will want to eliminate another European giant after having knocked out Real Madrid in the previous round.

Lionel MESSI and FC Barcelona take a 1-0 advantage away from Old Trafford over to the Camp Nou. MESSI assisted the only goal of the match in Manchester while Marcos ROJO and Sergio ROMERO did not take part in the match.

The remaining two matches take place on Wednesday as Mauricio POCHETTINO’s men have a 1-0 lead going into Manchester. Sergio AGUERO and Nicolas OTAMENDI will look to turn it around and make the semi-finals.

Porto against Liverpool is the other match on Wednesday with no Argentine representatives.

FC Barcelona (Lionel MESSI) vs. Manchester United (Sergio ROMERO, Marcos ROJO)

Wednesday:

Sebastian DRIUSSI scores twice, Emiliano RIGONI once for Zenit in win

Sebastian DRIUSSI scored twice and Emiliano RIGONI once as Zenit won 5-0 against Anji.

The two Argentine players score all of their goals with seven minutes left in the match. RIGONI made it 3-0 while DRIUSSI scored the last two of the game.

Emiliano RIGONI’s goal was a free kick, his second goal of the season.

DRIUSSI’s first goal came off a short free kick as the ball was passed to DRIUSI inside the penalty area. The second was a ball sent into the penalty area which found an unmarked DRIUSI for his second goal of the match.

Giovani LO CELSO and Franco VAZQUEZ score for Real Betis, Sevilla

Giovani LO CELSO and Franco VAZQUEZ both scored for their respective clubs in Sevilla’s 3-2 win against Real Betis.

With Sevilla leading 1-0, it was LO CELSO who scored the first goal for Real Betis. The goal was number 15 of the season for LO CELSO in all competitions and number 8 in La Liga. However, that goal was short lived.

Sevilla would take the lead once more and just four minutes after that, it would be Franco VAZQUEZ with a goal. A great goal from outside of the penalty area. Betis would pull one back through Cristian TELLO but it wouldn’t be enough.
