As we reported recently, there were rumors that the 2020 Copa America would be in both Argentina and Colombia. The new format would take place in a regional format, with two groups of six teams. It would be in zona Sur (South zone) and zona Norte (North zone) as the two groups.

Argentina would be in South zone along with Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia and a country to be invited. The North zone would be Colombia, Brazil, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and another country to be invited.

Four teams would qualify out of each group to form the quarter finals.

Argentina Champions League Preview: Lionel MESSI, Sergio AGUERO, Paulo DYBALA, more

The quarter final’s of the Champions League start on Tuesday as we preview the Argentine players.

There are 11 Argentine players which remain in the Champions League this season. By the start of the semi finals, there would be at least four less which would be eliminated.

On Tuesday, it’s Tottenham’s Argentine trio (quartet, including coach Mauricio POCHETTINO) who play against Manchester City. It’s been a solid season for Sergio AGUERO in the Champions League this season, scoring five goals in five matches. He will look to make it six out of six.

Nicolas OTAMENDI started City’s 1-0 win in the FA Cup against Brighton but it remains to be seen if he will start against Tottenham.

Paulo GAZZANIGA will surely start on the bench while Erik LAMELA is likely to miss the match due to injury. Juan FOYTH is the only Argentine player at the club with a chance to start.

Ajax will have to pull off another shock of the round after having eliminated Real Madrid. This time they will go against Juventus. Nicolas TAGLIAFICO has scored three times in the competition this tournament while Lisandro MAGALLAN has yet to feature.

Paulo DYBALA helped Juventus get the win against AC Milan a few days ago and will be looking to do the same. The former Palermo man has scored five times this season, some of which have been gems.

Old Trafford will be hosting Lionel MESSI for the first time since the 2007-2008 season. MESSI has scored eight goals in six matches and will be looking to seek revenge as the last time he played at that stadium, Barcelona were eliminated.

Sergio ROMERO and Marcos ROJO are both likely to start the match on the bench.

Tuesday:

Tottenham (Paulo GAZZANIGA, Erik LAMELA, Juan FOYTH) vs. Manchester City (Sergio AGUERO, Nicolas OTAMENDI)

Liverpool vs. FC Porto

Wednesday:

Ajax (Nicolas TAGLIAFICO, Lisandro MAGALLAN) vs. Juventus (Paulo DYBALA)

Manchester United (Sergio ROMERO, Marcos ROJO) vs. FC Barcelona (Lionel MESSI)

Giovani LO CELSO with two goals in Real Betis 2-1 win against Villarreal

Giovani LO CELSO scored both goals for Real Betis in their 2-1 win against Villarreal.

It only took LO CELSO a few minutes into the match to score the first goal of the game. A lovely chip over the goalkeeper made it 1-0 and gave Betis the lead. However, LO CELSO wasn’t the only Argentine to score in the match with Ramiro FUNES MORI equalizing through a towering header to draw Villarreal level.

But as he has been doing all season, LO CELSO does what LO CELSO wants. A lovely curled shot from inside the penalty area re-gave Betis the lead and would prove to be the match winner.

Rodrigo DE PAUL with two goals in Udinese’s win against Empoli

Rodrigo DE PAUL scored twice for Udinese in their 3-2 win against Empoli.

DE PAUL was instrumental in Udinese’s victory, with both of his goals coming while his team were trailing. With Empoli leading 1-0, Rodrigo DE PAUL struck with a lovely goal. A shot from outside of the penalty area went into the side corner of the net.

With the score at 1-1, Empoli once more took the lead and once more it was DE PAUL who put out the fire. A penalty before half-time drew Udinese level.

Paulo DYBALA scores in Juventus victory against AC Milan

Paulo DYBALA scored for Juventus in their 2-1 win against AC Milan.

After falling behind 1-0 through a goal from the first half, DYBALA was brought down in the penalty box by fellow Argentine Mateo MUASCCHIO. The referee pointed to the spot and Juventus were awarded a penalty.

DYBALA scored as Juventus drew level. The reigning Serie A champions would go on to score and get the victory.
